Osa Carbon stove. Photo Termofor
This is the smallest wood-burning sauna stove in the manufacturer’s lineup. It’s small, of course, but it can sting you with hot steam so that it takes your breath away and pierces you to the bones - believe me, it can. This is the “Wasp”. Very evil "Wasp". But, good. The line of stoves is represented by two main models: “Osa Carbon” and “Osa Inox” .
Each model is available in four design options: “terracotta”, “anthracite”, “chocolate” and NK (polished stainless steel convector). The product range of this model line also includes a rare type of design - “anthracite with a chocolate-colored upper frame of the convector.” For each model, modifications with a short fuel channel (SFC) are available.
"Vesuvius Legend Lux"
This is one of the best wood-burning cast iron sauna stoves. The model copes well with rooms up to 30 cubic meters. m. The firebox is made entirely of 12 mm cast iron and is completely sealed. This fact alone indicates the high reliability and durability of the stove.
The model is capable of accepting up to 180 kg of stones, which is enough for even the longest procedures. The radiation from cast iron exceeds that from steel by more than 70%, which will provide the sauna with excellent, and most importantly, stable steam. It is also worth mentioning the intelligent self-cleaning system, which eliminates the unpleasant rubbing of soot.
Users speak highly of the model. It is good for many things and has only one critical drawback - slow heating. So you will need to take care of bath procedures far in advance (2-3 hours in advance).
Pros of the model:
- good efficiency indicator;
- high reliability of the design, as well as a long operational period;
- long-term heat retention;
- volumetric heater 180 kg;
- intelligent self-cleaning system.
Minuses:
- slow heating;
- large dimensions and heavy weight.
The approximate price of the stove is about 22,000 rubles.
Reviews of Termofor sauna stoves
“In 2000, I bought a house, and with it I got a 3x3 wreck. They built a washing room for me (2.5 m), made a wooden dressing room (3 m) and a covered veranda for the entire length - 5.5 m. Next to it I placed a “Eurocube” (a plastic canister for a ton of water in a metal sheathing), I cut off the top and wrapped the edges with rubber - this is how it turned out. I heat for 2.5 - 3 hours. Temperature 80. The water is hot, but not boiling. I’ll warm up for about 15 minutes, wave a little and lie down in the dressing room (I didn’t seal the gaps between the boards, there’s a good draft). Then I give it a good shake, steam it and put it in a barrel (I change the water often, there is a water supply and it is clean and quite cold). And immediately 2-3 approaches to the steam room, and you do whatever you want there. Sometimes it’s hot to breathe, but the body doesn’t feel it, it’s so light! But it was never possible to raise it above 100. But I don’t like to whip with a broom, but with a drawbar. So that the leaf first sticks, and then moves, even with a creak. In the bathhouse we wash in two steps, first I, then the girls (in the sense of family). If there are guests, we add one cape. At least even the village people, who were almost born in a bathhouse, praise me, and the city people are completely delighted. By the way, I’m urban myself, but from spring to autumn I live in the village, I just commute 20 km further to work. For some reason I liked Tunguska better.”
“I haven’t met Ermak furnaces, but I know Termofor and Teplodar, I know the management personally, I’ve been to both factories. I also studied Harvia. My opinion is that Termofor and Teplodar are certainly better. Firstly, the material of the firebox - for Harvia it is black steel, for Novosibirsk it is heat-resistant, hence the wall thickness, respectively, the rate of heat transfer, and accordingly the rate of heating of the room. The design of the combustion chamber itself is more competent in Novosibirsk; The principle of convection is better implemented, the heater is better developed. In my opinion, Termofor and Teplodar are an example of the rare predominance of domestic industry over European. We can make not only tanks! My opinion is deeply subjective, because... I myself am the proud owner of a Tunguska stove.”
"Hephaestus PB-01"
If a bathhouse for you is not just a place for washing, but a real art, then you should take a look at, perhaps, the best long-burning stove for the home - “Hephaestus PB-01”. This is a fairly large, cast iron, and at the same time highly efficient stove, capable of creating an ideal bath microclimate in a bathhouse with a volume of up to 45 cubic meters. m.
The main feature of the model is its thick 60 mm cast iron walls, as well as the complete absence of bolts and any other mounting connections. That is, here we have a solid structure. This allows you to withstand the highest loads and temperature conditions.
Popular models of Termofor sauna stoves
The most popular stoves are “Tunguska” and “Angara”. Both of these models have similar characteristics: almost the same dimensions (850x500x790) and thermal power, but they have a different structure, different speed and “directionality” of heating.
Bath stove "Angara"
Firstly, the Angara has a chimney located closer to the center, which makes it possible to install it in any room, and secondly, it contains 5 kg more stones, but the stones warm up faster due to the special location and special design of the fuel chamber. At Angara, the stones are divided into two parts, between which there are special reheating chambers.
Operating principle of "Angara"
Due to this, warming up is much more active. In addition, this option for organizing the heater can withstand flooding with water. The Tunguska's non-ventilated chamber has time to dry out between uses, which does not always please their owners.
Appearance of the Tunguska stove
So: “Angara” is a quick heating of stones and a moderate temperature in a steam room, “Tunguska” is a quick heating of a steam room to high temperatures, saving firewood and not very high humidity.
Operating principle of the Tunguska sauna stove
There is also a modification of the Tunguska of larger size and power, the Tunguska XXL, for large visits (12-24 cubes versus 8-18 of the standard version).
To heat large steam rooms (18-30m3), the “Kalina” model is most often used. This is a powerful stove equipped with wide panoramic glass (54 cm diagonally). The original design of the flue in the form of a labyrinth allows you to quickly warm up the room and bring 100 kilograms of stones to the required temperature. The stove has a built-in heat exchanger that allows you to connect a remote tank to heat water.

For those who value comfort and do not like temperature changes, the Sayany mesh stove is suitable. Its unusual barrel-shaped design will fit well into a steam room. About 120 kilograms of stones are placed in this furnace, and the firebox is, as it were, lined with them on all sides.
The Sayany mesh oven has an unusual stylish design
Due to this, there is no hard radiation and you can sit quietly near the stove without the risk of getting burns. Due to the large mass of stones, the room warms up slowly, but it takes a long time to cool down.
For small steam rooms (6-12 cubes) Termofor has a “Compact” model, or rather today there are two of them - the old version and the updated “Compact 2013”. This small stove (730x715x690) quickly heats the air in the room. There is an option with a built-in tank; it is possible to retrofit the stove with a hanging water tank or a heat exchanger for connecting an external tank.
Oven for small steam rooms “Compact”
This model is available in both stainless and structural steel. The new modification “Compact 2013” is distinguished by a slightly larger number of stones (5 kilograms more), a more modern casing and a chimney pipe shifted to the center.
Updated stove for a small bath “Compact 213”
The bottom of the heater now has holes for draining excess water, which will prevent corrosion and increase its service life. I'm very pleased that the price has remained the same.
For small steam rooms, “Osa” (4-9 m3) or “Shilka” (6-12 m3) is suitable, and the updated wood-burning stove with a built-in stainless steel tank “Biryusa 2013” and a hidden heater has a non-standard design and vertical layout (730x410x1310).
The Biryusa sauna stove has a non-standard design - it is extended upward
To generate dry light steam, a special two-stage system was developed, implemented by Termofor in the Geyser furnace.

There is also a budget option made of black steel in the model range - “Karasuk”. For heating very large rooms (30-50 cubic meters) there is a Hekla business class stove. The recently introduced Vitruvia model is distinguished by a wide combustion compartment in which logs can be placed crosswise (diagonal 58 cm).
The new Vitruvia stove has a wide combustion chamber, which allows you to place logs not along, but across
As you can see, Termofor has a lot of stoves, and all of them are well thought out and originally made. But, there is one “BUT”. They cost a lot. But they last a long time and the reviews about them are almost exclusively positive.
NARVI Oy NC 16
This is one of the best wood burning stoves for your home. The model easily serves rooms of the usual sizes for a bathhouse - from 6 to 16 cubic meters. m. A competent design, capable of holding up to 50 kg of stones, quickly creates a microclimate and preserves it for a long time.
Separately, it is worth mentioning the mobility of equipment. Adjustable legs and low weight allow one person to carry the stove and also easily install it in a new place. In addition, the model can be connected to the chimney either through the rear panel or through the top, after installing additional equipment (not included). So the installation of the stove can be called simple and hassle-free.
Summarizing
When choosing equipment of this type, you must first look at the volume of your bath room. If you install a model that is too powerful, it will not work at full capacity, and you will simply throw money away. Modest stoves for large rooms will take a long time to create the necessary microclimate, and you will be tired of adding firewood. So everything should be in moderation.
The advantages of wood stoves over others are very obvious. Here, first of all, savings on electricity and gas. All you need is to prepare firewood, which is several times cheaper than blue fuel. In addition, annealing logs fills the room with a specific and natural sauna aroma, which other types of fuel, alas, cannot provide.
But there are also disadvantages. Periodically it is necessary to clean the chimney with the ash pan, wait until the heater heats up, and also constantly add firewood. There are clearly fewer disadvantages here than advantages, and they are less significant, so wood-burning stoves have been and remain the best option for a private home.
