Vulcan sauna stoves are universal. They are perfect for installation in a steam room and for heating a dressing room, washing room or rest room, since they can be mounted into the wall and heated from the adjacent room.
Design of the Vulcan furnace: 1 - furnace body; 2 — pipe (diameter 100 mm); 3 - glass, scoop and poker; 4 - firebox door; 5 - blower; 6 - place for stones; 7 - protective fence; 8 — tank; 9 - tap; 10 - knob - control for switching operating modes.
The good thing about the stove is that it heats up quickly and begins to warm up the stones and, accordingly, the air in the steam room. Due to the fact that Vulcan allows heating a fairly large mass of stones, the temperature in the room is stable, and the steam is ideal for bathing procedures.
Features of Vulcan heating stoves
Heating stoves of the “Vulcan” model line are otherwise called “Miracle stoves”. They consume relatively little fuel per unit of time. The Vulcan series are long-burning stoves. One stack of firewood lasts a very long time. It's all about the unusual design of heating stoves: a metal body with a metal casing “heat battery” installed in a special way creates convection air flows inside the structure. Thanks to this, the heated air is distributed evenly in space and time.
Consequences of incorrect selection of section
When overheating reaches a critical value, it will first begin to melt and then the cable insulation will ignite:
- It is the incorrectly selected wire cross-section that is the most common cause of domestic fires.
- Also, if the insulation is destroyed, a short circuit may occur, as a result of which all household appliances may fail.
- In any case, you will have to spend a lot of money to restore and replace, at least the wiring of the house.
- In an industrial plant, incorrectly selected cables can lead to much more tragic consequences.
That is why this issue must be taken very seriously.
Advantages of Vulcan sauna stoves
Probably the most important advantage of these stoves is their high reliability at a low price. The average service life is 10 years. But this figure has recently become even higher: since December 2013, “Vulcans” began to be produced with fireboxes in which the steel thickness in the most loaded places is 10 mm (previously it was 5 mm). This improvement was made after a promotion carried out by the company: when purchasing a new stove, a 30% discount was provided if you brought an old one with a decent service life. Having analyzed the weak points of their products, the company developed a new firebox design. Now the service life declared by the manufacturers is 20 years.
This is what the Vulcan stove looks like in cross-section
Vulcan has several more features. The first is a double casing that softens the harsh heat radiation emanating from all iron stoves. The protection is quite effective, but if you want to get a stove exclusively for a Russian bath, you still have to line it with bricks. But the positive thing is that it doesn’t have to be firebrick. The double shield absorbs a fair amount of the heat and there is no need for increased fire ratings.
The second feature is the presence of a damper, which, as manufacturers say, switches the stove from the “sauna” mode to the “bath” mode. This damper blocks or opens the flow of hot air from the firebox to the stones. It was not possible to find data on how effectively such a damper works, but the idea seems sound, although it is not clear how much it actually affects the temperature of the stones. Stones, by the way, are also located in “Volcanoes” in a special way - in narrow gutters. This creates inconvenience during laying, but improves their heating.
The peculiarity of the firebox of the Vulcan sauna stoves is not only that they are now thicker in some places, but also that metal ribs are welded on the outside. Thus, it is given greater rigidity (the walls do not “walk” when heated) and heat transfer increases due to an increase in the surface of the metal. It must be said that these warm up the steam room quickly and easily. They say that one stack of wood is enough to maintain the temperature in a steam room for 4 hours. This is even noted as a minus: it is difficult to maintain the temperature in the range required for Russian steam.

Design features and advantages of the Vulcan sauna stove (clickable)
The undoubted advantages include the fact that Vulcan stoves can be heated with any solid fuel. What you have, you put it in the firebox. So for “Vulcans” the definition of wood-burning stoves is not entirely correct: they are heated with any solid fuel. But for a bathhouse, naturally, firewood is preferable.
The design of these ovens is generally well thought out. In order to be able to clean the firebox without removing the casing or disassembling the chimney, there are special holes. A retractable ash tray is provided to collect ash. The intensity of combustion also depends on its position.
Recommendations for use
The manufacturer of equipment for Vesuvius steam rooms prescribes recommendations for operating the device in the instructions for the models. You should familiarize yourself with them in advance and strictly follow them. This affects the service life of the device and the company’s warranty obligations. When working with company equipment, it is prohibited:
- Use peat, coke, gaseous and liquid materials as fuel. This does not comply with fire safety regulations. The combustion temperature may exceed that for which the device is designed.
- Firewood must not exceed the permissible dimensions of the firebox.
- Do not use the device if the tank is not filled with water.
- Install in residential areas for heating.
- The chimney can only be closed when the fire has completely gone out.
- Do not burn soot from the smoke duct.
- Make changes to the original design of the furnace.

Important! To prevent the destruction of cast iron, you should familiarize yourself with the rules for laying stones. You can water the stones for steam generation at a minimum interval of 5 minutes
Disadvantages of Vulcan stoves
We didn't find any negative reviews at all. The general impression is that they are good, well-made metal stoves with all their pros and cons. The disadvantages include several design flaws, which, in principle, are not critical, but reduce the comfort of use.
- The water tank for Vulcan stoves has a small volume (20-40 liters). In addition to the need to drain/add water, there is another nuisance: in a small tank, the water boils before the steam room warms up. If we take models with a hinged tank, a different picture arises - the water takes too long to heat up, which is also not good. According to reviews, the best option is either to take models with remote tanks, or without them at all, and to heat the water, install a separate electric or wood-burning boiler (as conditions allow).
- There is one more inconvenience for models with a built-in tank - the tap for draining hot water is not located very well - if the stove is heated from an adjacent room, then the tap is located too close to the wall, which creates inconvenience.
- Models with remote heat exchangers have a lead diameter of ½ inch, although ¾ would be optimal, but this is already in the area of “process optimization”. The water flows well, but, as often happens, I would like it to be better.
- There is a purely theoretical drawback: the effectiveness of the damper, which switches modes from bath to sauna, is questionable. We did not find any reviews from owners of such “Vulcans” using the function. So how this option works is unknown.
These are all the shortcomings that we found while reading reviews from owners and experienced bathhouse attendants who analyzed the technical data of Vulcan bathhouse stoves (there are also heating stoves, but we didn’t look into them).

Reviews
Now the reviews themselves. We present impressions from the operation of only sauna stoves, not heating ones.
“I had two Vulcans, both for a long time. Each one is more than 10 years old. Moreover, it is still a secret to me what kind of steel they use. Externally, they are ordinary black metal, but they do not burn through. The stove is good, but for a Russian bath you need “dancing with a tambourine” in full: a brick screen, a steam gun and a convector on a pipe.”
My Vulcan is already an old man. And I would be glad to exchange it for a new model (I like the Harmony), but it won’t burn out, it doesn’t seem like it’s even going to. And we only heat it with birch, and harshly: I love high temperatures.
This is a photo of the welded seam of the firebox (to enlarge the size, click on it with the left mouse button)
My Vulcan is already three years old, U16 or 16U, I don’t even remember. My insulation is average. In an hour, the steam room in winter (14 cubic meters) heats up to 90°. I had friends who were extreme sports enthusiasts, and they reached 140°C with oak in 30-40 minutes. I'm happy with this stove, but I'll have to change the pipe to an insulated one, otherwise there's already one leaning against it.
I prefer the Russian steam room, which is not hot, but I decided to test how the damper on the Vulcan works. After steaming, I turned the handle. in a minute the temperature rose from 80 to 90. This despite the fact that the wood was no longer burning, probably due to the stones.
There is still an old Vulcan with a 30 liter tank. Everything is fine except this tank itself. Water boils very quickly and very early. Moreover, the tap is located so low that you need to draw water either by bending over or kneeling. Neither one nor the other makes me happy. And in general, I became convinced that the water tank in the steam room is pure evil. If it boils, it’s on guard, everything is steamed, and it’s kind of sticky. And if you don’t leave it empty, it will burn. I decided for myself: it’s better to install a separate water heater and not toil all the time.
New stoves for the Vulcan bathhouse
Since the second half of 2013, new modifications of the popular and proven models Vulcan VU-05 and VU-09 have appeared - Vector VU-05 and Vector VU-09. Their feature is a special convection kit and a mesh on the pipe for stones. For those who prefer dry steam, this is an ideal option.
Since the beginning of 2014, Vulcans have appeared in the premium class. These are the new Etna Premium sauna stoves, which are distinguished by a more sophisticated design. Moreover, the designers worked not only on the body itself, but also on the accessories for the pipe; they also developed a special cast-iron grate and four door options instead of the usual two.
New developments by Vulcan specialists. Etna Premium is distinguished by its non-standard, sophisticated design.
The old models Vulcan VU 02, 05, 07 have been replaced by new modified bathhouse stoves Elbrus 16, 20, 26, which have several modifications and configurations. There is also Elbrus 40, but it is classified as a sauna stove for commercial use - such a stove can heat a room from 25 to 40 m3. The category of “commercial” furnaces is not limited to Elbrus 40.
The main technical characteristics are summarized in a table. This will make it easier for you to navigate. Any of these models can be equipped with either a solid cast-iron door or a door with glass.

A little general information about Vulcan brand stoves
The manufacturer, as a proprietary feature, calls a double steel casing, which provides protection from uncomfortable radiation and optimally removes heat from the firebox. Speaking in detail, we are talking about infrared radiant heat transfer.
I can’t judge how innovative this solution is, but there is no doubt that thermal radiation becomes softer, or again, speaking in detail, “longer wavelength in the infrared spectrum.”
But there is something else, for example, fireboxes have built-in dividers that allow you to optimize the combustion process. And the developed ribbed surface in the upper zone of the firebox allows you to increase the area of the heat transfer surface. Phew, I switched to a complex presentation. I'm simplifying.
Thanks to this, the stones heat up more evenly and quickly, and the water evaporates more efficiently. The movement of steam from the furnace into the room is ensured by special control valves. It should be noted that there is a useful design solution - a special hole for cleaning the chimney and furnace labyrinths from soot. It is convenient to operate and no dismantling is necessary.
Models of Vulcan sauna stoves differ in two main indicators: heating volume (m³) and level of comfort. They are all metal (steel). Let's look at the main characteristics.
WHAT STOVE FOR A SAUNA.
Temperatures are usually 90° and humidity is minimal. In such a bathhouse they just sit and warm up, they don’t steam with brooms, they don’t pour water on the stones. If you raise the temperature in a sauna above 90° and raise the humidity by adding water to the stones, then such a bath will be more likely to be harmful to health. Raw steam against the background of high temperature in the steam room burns the mucous membranes of the nose and throat and has a bad effect on the eyes. It turns out not to be a rest, but a continuous struggle with your own body, even if you hold competitions to see who can spend the longest in this hell. After such a bath, due to the lack of oxygen in the steam room, you often get a headache.
For a sauna to give you health and pleasure, you need to use it correctly. Most often, electric metal convection ovens from well-known Finnish manufacturers are used in saunas. Air constantly passes through the oven from bottom to top, heating up. The power of the stove is selected based on the volume of the steam room (it is always indicated by stove manufacturers in the accompanying documentation).
Some ovens are equipped with steam generators - this is also a good option. But when using it, you need to lower the temperature in the steam room (only some models of electric stoves do this automatically).
Wood-burning metal convection stoves are also used in the sauna. Their power is selected in the same way - based on the cubic capacity of the steam room. There is also no need for a power reserve here, so as not to heat the air in the sauna above 90°.
Model Taal 14
Compact dimensions allow Taal 14 to be used in small bathhouses. The price is also quite “compact”. The stove can be placed so that firewood can be supplied from the steam room or from an adjacent room. Here are the parameters of this model:
- Steam room volume from 8 to 14 m3
- Double casing around the firebox
- Depth: 360 mm
- Width: 410 mm
- Height: 710 mm
- Weight of the stove itself: 57 kg
- Weight of stones: up to 40 kg
We recommend: Insulation of interfloor ceilings using wooden beams
Design features:
- Furnace wall thickness: 5 mm
- Chimney diameter: 110 and 115 mm
- Length of laid firewood: up to 300 mm.
Two numbers written after the name of some Vulcan models indicate the maximum heated volume of the steam room in cubic meters. For example, Taal 14 means that the steam room that this model can “serve” is up to 14 m³.
Dobrostal Augusta — 25,850 ₽
Sauna stove Dobrostal - Augusta STONE strong with panoramic glass
Currently, there is a tendency on the market to modify furnaces of almost the same direction. What does the buyer require? Internal heater, heat accumulator, fast heating and long service life. This is exactly the path that the Dobrostal manufacturers took.
So, although the manufacturer does not indicate the power, we will take it within the range of 14-16 kW, as indicated by the volume of the firebox and the declared efficiency. With such power and efficiency, warming up the steam room in winter without covering the walls will be about 3 hours. During this time, we will get high-quality heating of the internal heater, external stones and the opportunity to “play” with the modes. There is no need to rush and warm up the room in accelerated modes. There is a risk of getting a situation where your ears are cracking and your feet are covered in frost. After entering the mode, the sauna stove will produce good results even for those close to the title of “sophisticated sauna attendants.”
The model uses structural steel with a thickness of up to 8 mm in areas of high thermal load. The declared service life of 20 years is accepted with a number of reservations: do not overheat, do not pour water, moderate operation. But even 10 years is already very good and the money spent will be fully repaid by the pleasure received.

Here we are again faced with the “short ones”. The firewood is only 30 mm long, but the manufacturer guarantees good heat removal from each log. The slogan “Stop drowning with sleepers” is even being promoted.
The sauna stove is very well designed, the basic needs of consumers are fulfilled, and critical comments are always taken into account and corrected in the following modifications. Advantages of stoves from the manufacturer Dobrostal:
Advantages of stoves from the manufacturer Dobrostal:
Elbrus 16 (Panorama modification)

In addition to the Elbrus 16 model, there are more powerful modifications (18, 20, 24 and 26). Elbrus is available in different versions: with cast iron or steel doors, with small windows made of tempered glass or large panoramic windows made of thermoceramics. It is possible to connect a hot water tank (from 31 to 45 l) or a heat exchanger, allowing the use of tanks with a capacity of 60, 80, 100 and 120 l.
Vesuvius - sauna stoves, review of designs and models, recommendations
Inexpensive Vesuvius sauna stoves are captivating primarily because of their price. She is democratic. At the same time, the stoves are made of cast iron, quite thick, 8 - 12 mm in different places. Therefore, they are reliable and durable (the manufacturer talks about 30 years of actual service...) and at the same time extremely cheap.
Thick cast iron is the basis of a sauna stove
The body of Vesuvius sauna stoves is often made of cast iron, which users like. But you can also find options made entirely of steel...
The combustion chamber of a cast iron stove consists of two main components: the lower part of the firebox, the upper part of the firebox, connected to the bottom by 4 bolts, and a heat-resistant cord is laid between them. Above, a cover is bolted to which the chimney is attached.
There are two removable cast iron elements:
- above the combustion chamber there is a shaped flame stopper, which must be set to the position according to the instructions;
- at the bottom of the firebox there is a grate.
The firebox door is also made of cast iron; it can be decorated with heat-resistant glass. The enclosing gratings and ash pan are made of steel.
For everything the price is small - from 250 - 350 USD. for smaller models in the line, and up to 500 USD for medium sizes...
What size…
Manufacturers of metal sauna stoves are looking for a compromise between the size of the combustion chamber and the price. On the one hand, a large firebox for a sauna stove is good - a lot of long logs will fit in, the comfort of preparing firewood and servicing the stove increases, and the energy output from just opening the door...
On the other hand, the price and weight of the product are increasing; consumers simply will not buy a stove that is too expensive. Was it possible to find a middle ground in this matter in the Vesuvius sauna stove...
As many people note, shortened firewood is needed, since even 50 cm already extends beyond the chamber, although it is acceptable for use, but at the same time, the combustion chamber turns out to be sufficient in volume to heat the steam room in one load...
Overview of the model range and choice of sauna stove
When you come to the store, you can find a number of different models of the Vesuvius sauna stove.
- First of all, you need to differentiate between sizes. Each dimension is designed for its own steam room volume from 6 - 14 cubic meters, and up to several dozen. The greatest demand is for medium ones, designed for 12 - 24 cubic meters.
- Next is the fundamental question: steel body or cast iron? For a sauna stove, which is purchased for decades, experts recommend cast iron... You can see that the company offers excellent casting, and the cast iron is really thick, on average 10 mm.
- Door with or without glass... Glass creates the effect of a fireplace, you can see the flame and visually control the combustion. But this will come in handy when people are often in the waiting room...
- With an additional closed heater and steam generator or a simplified design. An additional steam generator makes it easier to saturate the room with steam and quickly transform a Finnish dry steam room into a wet Russian one... This is in demand.

How to set up a steam room with a Vesuvius sauna stove
When installing a stove, it is necessary to comply with the requirements of fire regulations and the manufacturer’s instructions in this regard. Instructions are included with the oven.
In particular, it is necessary to create fireproof, non-combustible areas of the enclosing surfaces - floor, ceiling and wall - with the specified dimensions at the place where the stove is installed. There are also a number of rules for arranging a chimney passing through the roof.
But all this does not make much sense if you do not create reliable and environmentally friendly thermal insulation for the steam room. How to insulate a steam room
The video shows an example of the design of a steam room with a VESUVIUS sauna stove.
Etna 20 Premium
This stove is distinguished by its original aesthetic design, and in addition:
- Innovative turbo-firebox ensuring high-quality combustion and economical fuel consumption;
- the developed ribbed surface of the firebox increases the total “heat removal” area and increases the service life;
- three-layer casing, creates soft radiation and comfortable conditions of outgoing steam;
- durable thermal glass, measuring 410 x 290 mm, makes it possible to admire and control the combustion process.
- Steam room volume: up to 20 m3
- Depth: 765 mm
- Width: 820 mm
- Height: 810 mm
- Weight of the “heat generator”: 90 kg;
- Weight of stones: up to 95 kg
The Etna model has a modification “26” (up to 26 m³ of heating), it is slightly larger in size and allows you to invest up to 120 kg of stone.
Prometheus 18 (Panorama modification)
Prometheus has a unique design due to its aesthetic mesh casing (see photo), thanks to which you can lay more stone for the stove. And this, in turn, allows you to increase heat transfer and create a feeling of comfortable infrared radiation.
This stove has design features similar to the Etna model, including a “ribbed” turbo firebox with increased thickness in some places and effective cast-iron grates that can “make” even damp wood burn. In addition, the manufacturer claims that the installed convection kit ensures faster heating of the stone.
- Steam room volume: from 8 to 18 m3
- Depth: 555 mm
- Width: 525 mm
- Height: 810 mm
- Weight of the oven itself: 85 kg
- Weight of stones: up to 200 kg (!)
In addition to the “18”, a more powerful model, the “24”, is produced. Each Prometheus has three modifications, with a cast iron or steel door, as well as with a small flat or large (see photo) panoramic thermoceramic glass.
What types of gas devices are there?
There are several types of gas stoves, they are classified according to the following principle:
- What type of burner is used;
- What material is the body made of?
- What device is installed to heat water?
- Power parameters.
Depending on these criteria, there are many models of gas furnaces, which complicates the task of choosing. Therefore, before purchasing equipment, you should study all the important nuances.
Stone and brick stoves
A sauna stove with a gas burner, which is made of brick or stone, is an analogue of a Russian stove with a firebox for logs. The layout of a bathhouse with gas stoves will not be affected in any way due to the material in which the body of the device is made. Stone or brick structures fit into any interior.
The only drawback of this material is the duration of heating. Stone conducts heat better than brick, so it will heat up faster. In models made of brick and stone, behind the firebox door there is a heater, which is heated by radiation of energy from the burned fuel.
The heater is located above the gas burner. A gas sauna stove with a closed heater does not require additional ventilated operation, unlike an open heater. In many models, the heater is open, so if this issue is fundamental, it is worth taking this nuance into account.
Metal stoves
Metal stoves are cheaper than brick and stone stoves, and they are easier to install. The compact design of the metal device allows it to be installed even in small bathhouses. Other benefits include:
- Fast heating, as the metal structure is very thin;
- The ability to select a furnace of the required power, so you can save on energy resources.
The presence of a metal structure presupposes the presence of mandatory thermal insulation. It is necessary to make thermal insulation of the equipment body from the floor covering (for example, with a brick layer), thermal insulation from the walls and chimney. If this is not done, there is a high chance of a fire.
If the bathhouse is planned to be heated from time to time, and not constantly, then it is better to choose a metal structure; its minimum weight is 45 kg, while a brick or stone structure weighs from 750 kg.
Economical stoves for the VULCAN bathhouse
- The bathhouse stove produced by Vulcan offers high performance with economical use of fuel. The optimized fuel combustion scheme in the firebox allows for the most efficient use of the thermal energy released when burning wood, guaranteeing very fast and uniform heating of the steam room.
- "Vulcan" - has triple protection against hard infrared radiation. This is a double casing and plus a large volume of stones (up to 150 kg). The stones are laid around the perimeter and to a depth up to the center line of the firebox, thereby serving as reliable protection against radiation and making the steam softer. They say “good” about baths with such steam.
- The service life of Vulcan furnaces is more than 10 years - ensured by the design itself, which excludes contact of welds with water, which at high temperatures forms an aggressive environment that exposes the metal to corrosion. On the Vulcan firebox, the welds are made on the inside. Vulcan fireboxes are made of carbon steel with a thickness of 5.0 mm.
- The fireboxes of all models are equipped with heat exchange fins, which serve to increase the total area of heat transfer surfaces and for more efficient heat removal from the firebox. Consequently, there is an even more intense and uniform heating of the stones and air in the steam room and, ultimately, greater savings in firewood and an increased service life of the firebox.
- For convenience, Vulcan stoves are equipped with a cleaning hole that allows you to clean and remove soot from the furnace labyrinths without dismantling the chimney.
- The design allows the stove to be mounted in a wall, with the ability to fire from an adjacent room. For this, a decorative arch is used, which is not a continuation of the firebox and therefore does not heat up. This allows it to be built into a wall made of any brick, not necessarily fire-resistant, with cement mortar.
- “Vulkankomplekt” establishes a warranty period of 2 years for its products.
- The company provides its customers with the opportunity to purchase a new stove for their bathhouse with a 20% discount, subject to returning the old one to the company after a long period of use. This action is carried out as part of a comprehensive study to further improve the designs and quality of our products.
What will be needed for installation?
To install a stove in a bathhouse, you will need a foundation.
It can be a layer of bricks. On top of it are asbestos and steel sheets, screwed with bolts. Such a massive base is necessary because without a water tank the weight of the unit reaches 120 kg. The next step after installation is the chimney equipment. Since Vulcan brand sauna stoves are very powerful, this design will have a number of features.
A steel pipe is usually used as a chimney. Installation is carried out in a certain order. At the first stage, the seat sleeve is treated with a sealant, which is subsequently used to treat the joints. Then a flange is put on the pipe, which eventually ends up above the stove.
The next step in arranging the chimney is to bring the pipe into the box. In this case, the upper and lower edges of the box are covered with basalt wool. A clamp is put on this entire structure, and the corners of its fastening are welded to the channels. Next, the pipe is closed with a steel flange and the seams are treated with sealants. And the last stage is the installation of a deflector, covered with a cap on top to protect against precipitation.
Watch the video installation of the Vulcan chimney:
After completing all stages of installation, commissioning work is carried out and you can steam. If these jobs seem complicated to you and you don’t have the relevant experience, then it’s better to entrust them to professionals.
Installation of stoves for the Vulcan bathhouse
Approximate installation diagram for Vulcan sauna stoves.
Vulcan sauna stoves also have important advantages: compact size and low weight of 60-100 kilograms without stones. Two men can easily handle such a mass, which also reduces delivery costs. The small mass of the stove has another positive point: it is not necessary to make a foundation for the stove. It is enough to prepare a decent basis:
- Place a layer of brick at the location where the stove is installed. The dimensions of the brick base are at least 20-30 cm larger than the dimensions of the stove.
- Place a sheet of asbestos on top, and then a sheet of stainless steel.
- The entire structure is fastened with spacer bolts into the brick.
That's all, the base for the Vulcan sauna stove is ready. There is another option for preparing the foundation for the “Vulcan”: lay out the adjacent wall and floor with porcelain stoneware slabs (approximately 120 cm wide and 140 cm high).
We remind you that there are floor screens for metal stoves. Many screen models can withstand significant loads. Floor screens are described in the article How to choose a stove (boiler) screen for a bath
If the stove is made with the firebox moved to another room, the gap between the wall and the arch can be filled with insulation (it’s up to you to use basalt wool or another material). To ensure good draft in this case, the chimney pipe is brought out with a 90° elbow into the wall, and then with another 90° turn up.
How to install
For safe operation, sauna stoves require a non-combustible base.
Due to the fact that the weight of the stoves is small, a separate foundation for them is not necessary. If fire-resistant material is laid on wood, the thickness of the non-combustible base must be at least 7 cm. The foundation on which the stove is installed must be 7-10 cm larger than its dimensions in any direction. To protect from falling coals, it is advisable to protect the floor in front of the stove with either a metal sheet or ceramic tiles laid on a non-combustible base. The dimensions of this area are no less than 50*70cm. It is important to correctly install a wood-burning sauna stove
There are two ways to place the stove in the bathhouse: so that it is heated from another room or placed entirely in the steam room. If the firebox is located in an adjacent room, the passage through the wall must be non-flammable (the part of the wall adjacent to the stove is made of brick, the distance between the stove and the brick is additionally filled with mineral wool). At the same time, the distance from the stove to the nearest combustible wall must be at least 50 cm; if the wall is protected by non-combustible material, the minimum distance is 36 cm. The wall opposite the door must be at a distance of at least 125cm.
For recommendations on chimney installation, see this video.
It is important to correctly route the chimney through the walls, ceilings and roof: the temperature of the pipe can sometimes be very high, so fire safety must be observed. To do this, use special or homemade feedthrough units.
Installation of stoves in Russian baths
Vulcan stoves can be installed both in Russian baths and Finnish saunas. This is possible due to the uniqueness of the design, for the development of which both time-tested methods and the most modern ones were used, and the previous experience of domestic and foreign colleagues was taken into account. The result of long and fruitful work is a whole series of Vulcan sauna stoves, among which you can find models that satisfy a wide variety of parameters. For example, someone may find the most convenient Russian stove, the firebox of which is made from the dressing room, and in the steam room itself there is only its back wall. There are also a large number of models, which are loaded directly in the steam room.
We offer a large selection of models in size, designed for heating steam rooms of various sizes, with built-in or remote tanks, or not intended for heating water at all. As you can see, the choice is quite large. Let us repeat: if you do it at the very initial stage, you will get a bathhouse where you can get real pleasure without thinking about any annoying little things.
