Stoves for the Enchantress bathhouse: creating magical steam for a real Russian bathhouse

It is not for nothing that the good old stove for the Enchantress bathhouse is called such an “affectionate” name - the steam from it, judging by the reviews of many bathhouse attendants, turns out to be light, pleasant and truly Russian. And in soapstone or brick, the stove itself emits only soft heat, without any danger of burning or thermal shock, while always working efficiently and without failure.

And, surprisingly, the “Enchantress” can warm up not the smallest steam room in just 1.5-2 hours - which cannot be said about any other “Russian stove”. And this means that their most serious drawback has been removed!

Construction of the "Enchantress"

The range of stoves is so diverse that it allows you to choose an option for a steam room of almost any volume (up to 30 m3). The operation of the device is based on the principle of a double chamber: the first is designed for fuel combustion, the second for gas generation.

The second compartment is located next to the heater, which allows the stones to immediately absorb heat from the stove. The unit is equipped with a steam accumulator that covers the laid stones. This system allows the heat to “spread” evenly throughout the room, leaving the steam light and fine.

To make the firebox, 6 mm thick stainless steel is used, containing at least 18% chromium. The strength of the form is ensured by additional fasteners. They are also responsible for increasing the area of the heat-conducting section of the furnace.

Pros of "The Enchantress"

The oven has many advantages:

  • Soft, comfortable warmth, which is provided by a special firebox design that blocks too much impact on the respiratory tract and skin. The “Sorceress” installation eliminates thermal shock, which convection ovens suffer from;
  • Rapid formation of steam due to enhanced, uniform heating of the stones;
  • Reliability and fire safety. The design is made of heat-resistant, stainless steel and cast iron. The cladding can be created from a coil, refractory brick, soapstone;
  • Convenience. The oven is equipped with a 50-100 liter water tank of a specific shape: a recessed neck blocks excess evaporation of liquid when filling. It is possible to connect a remote tank and heat exchanger;
  • Various decorative solutions using several types of stones. White quartz will provide a feeling of luxury and purity, crimson quartzite will provide a loving and romantic atmosphere, greenish jadeite will provide a feeling of boundless chic;
  • Providing a “fireplace effect”. The design of the stove door allows you to admire the “dance” of the flames in the firebox while relaxing in the dressing room.

Model overview

The range of heat generators, which, as noted above, consists of six models, makes it possible to choose an option for a steam room of any volume - no more than 30 m³. Their combustion chamber is entirely made of stainless steel AISI 439 (except for the Enchantress Micro, in which this element is made of structural carbon steel), and there are not many such stoves on the domestic market.

Let's take a look at the characteristics of each model.

Model Enchantress

Model Enchantress

Wood heat generator, the most powerful of the entire model range. The firebox is made of the same AISI 439 steel, and the walls are equipped with special ribs, which not only increase the rigidity of the structure, but also increase the total surface area that gives off heat. A spacious heater that heats up on five sides at once.

Exterior finishing is made only from natural materials - refractory brick (economy option) or natural stone. This lining will accumulate thermal energy and gradually release it, which will ensure a stable temperature in the steam room.

Other features of the model:

Disadvantages

Like any other design, the Enchantress sauna stove has not only fans, but also opponents. And this is not surprising. Ideal stove systems have not yet been invented, and not everyone can afford the cost of those close to the ideal. One of the obvious disadvantages of the stove is its relatively large mass - up to a quarter of a ton.

Some particularly picky bathhouse attendants consider the “Enchantress” unattractive, since it makes it difficult to place stones in the corners. Others complain about the front part of the stove: some don’t like the crooked doors, while others are afraid of getting burned on the iron handles.

Another drawback is the ill-conceived upper blower, on which people often get burned when kindling. Many people also don’t like the fact that the outer part of the “Enchantress” is not equipped with legs.

Specifics of operation

The thermodynamic heater of the stove heats a large number of stones to a temperature of over 400 degrees C, but there is no burning sensation thanks to the thermal casing that covers the stones and ensures uniform heat distribution.

The steam room warms up in about 1.5-2 hours. During this time, the temperature rises to 100 degrees C and higher. The quality of steam is the same as in steam rooms with a brick oven, and it takes noticeably less time to warm up the room. Steamers consider this property to be the main advantage of the Enchantress.

However, the stove also has a drawback - its relatively large mass (up to 250 kg). Considering how many advantages the stove has, this flaw is quite tolerable.

Installing a stove in a log sauna

The large mass of the “Enchantress” requires a special approach to installing the unit in a log steam room. It is best to prepare the base in the following order:

  • Prepare the timber for the lower trim, cover it with an antiseptic and used machine oil;
  • Drill holes through which to fix on studs to the pipe, having previously organized a three-layer roofing felt protection between the tree and the pipe;
  • Secure the double floor joists to the lower pipe trim;
  • Lay a vapor barrier membrane, insulation, waterproofing;
  • Drill holes in the joists for ventilation;
  • Install the stove, not forgetting about additional protection of the ceiling and the area in front of the firebox.
