If you want to get the maximum effect from using a sauna stove, pay attention to manufacturers located in cold regions. Agree, if the consumer cannot get the required temperature in the steam room, such a company will simply go bankrupt. Therefore, manufacturers try to produce the highest quality product, especially for the places where they are located.
There are many modifications of sauna stoves, for example, Termofor or Teplodar sauna stoves, which differ from each other in various design features. Today the article will talk about devices of the same name, which were developed for cold winters and hot summers.

Ford Bronco Bronchitis F350 › Logbook › Heating in the garage. Fire Battery 7 lite. Termofor.
There were diesel and gas and electric transformers... but I never used a wood-burning one in a garage. I weighed and thought about it for quite some time. I read storytellers on the forum house. Ultimately, it is what it is. Termoforovskaya Fire Battery 7 light.
Ideally, under ideal conditions, etc., for 150 cubic meters. I probably have 120. It is clear that if you fart well enough in an insulated, insulated room, the heat will remain for a very long time. Therefore, I have already taken not 5 but 7 sections. And more logs will climb. 5th is quite small in length.
If you look closely, you can see a defect that I didn’t notice in the BRAND store on Signalny. There is no bend on the third gill of the battery. And it’s not that they forgot to bend it, but they stupidly cut it off incorrectly. It seems that I didn’t find any more jambs during inspection, both from the outside and from the inside. If it doesn’t come apart at the seams during combustion, then that’s fine.
So the rest seems to be done neatly, but it’s not as if it’s fantastic, as advertised on the website. If it had cost 10-12 instead of 14 rubles, then everything would have been completely justified.
They installed it in half a day. For sealant, clamps. We must pay tribute, the branded chimney fits well and the knees fit tightly into each other.
Then I spent half a day cutting up the roof and lubricating it just to be sure))
The photos show the accompanying tools and materials.
Red is a sub-fire-resistant sealant, which is 300 degrees and short-term 600. (all pipe joints are heat-resistant 1400 degrees). Underneath it, with a clamp, I pulled a rose from the corrugated sheet to the pipe, which I cut with a grinder.
Flash for both rivets and roofing screws. I applied sealant to both before planting. Then more from above. And then I still filled the top with bitumen roofing resin. There are no photos though. it was already dark.
Well, then another sandwich, finishing it and mushroom.
So I didn’t take a photo during the day. I'll add it later.
Before installation, I also placed the reflector behind the stove.
It stood for a couple of days, then heated it with the gate open.
It stank, burning with oil and polymerizing the paint as stated in the instructions. The draft is good, although instead of the recommended 5 meters of chimney it was possible to install only 4.
When it gets colder, we'll see how we can heat it. So far it's not too hot. In any case, when I come to an unheated garage, I turn on the diesel engine, change clothes, light the stove, then turn off the accident and this should keep it warm. But this is in theory. Wait and see.
It's getting cold. The oven began to be used more often. The valve entrance to the stove was constantly moving, the sealant came off, cracked, etc. When you look into the stove, you can see the gaps. Perhaps it even siphoned through it.
It is clear that doing this is not the best option. But the runs at the stove will be mainly along the exhaust lines. Therefore, when replacing the damper, when it burns out, I’ll bluntly cut it off, remove the remains with a stripper, and weld the damper on the removed stove before installation. When the stove in the corner is not convenient to burn out. I hope this will happen in 3-5 years...
Last photo of the kindling. When it returns to normal mode there is little smoke. When the coals appear there is almost no smoke.

Sauna stoves Termofor - review
Gone are the days when foreign brands were preferred when purchasing a sauna stove. Of course, their products have not become worse, it’s just that manufacturers have appeared in Russia that can compete on equal terms with famous companies. One of these manufacturers is the Siberian company Termofor, which occupies a leading position in the iron furnace market.
Sauna stoves Termofor review
Termofor's first product was a fairly simple stove, assembled by two engineer friends who were big fans of the Russian bathhouse. It was a wood-burning model, which, by the way, became the prototype for the entire subsequent line.
Today, the company’s range is already quite large - it consists of more than 30 models, with which the Russian consumer is well familiar. All heating devices are affordable and economical; moreover, they all look beautiful and aesthetically pleasing, so they will fit into any interior.

Chimney outlet through the roof
A more complex option requires increased care and the purchase of additional elements. Consider the option of a metal roof.
Step 1. Make precise markings in the ceiling where the pipe exits and make a hole. Make sure that the hole does not hit the roof beam! The dimensions of the hole in the ceiling should be 10 cm larger around the perimeter than the diameter of the pipe. The ceiling is made of boards - making a hole in it is not a problem.
Scheme for arranging a hole in the ceiling
Pipe passage through the ceiling
Pipe passage through the attic
Step 2. Mark the place where the pipe exits on the roof, watch the verticality and location of the rafters and sheathing. The hole in the roof should not damage the elements of the rafter system.
Step 3. Use a cylindrical grinder to cut a hole in the roof; its size should correspond as much as possible to the diameter of the pipe.
Step 4. Fix the vertical position of the chimney in the ceiling with pads, insulate the opening with mineral wool and nail galvanized steel sheets on both sides.
Insulating the opening with mineral wool
Step 5. To seal the pipe outlet on the roof, you need to buy special additional products: a metal skirt and a glass. The diameter of the glass must correspond to the diameter of the pipe. It is quite difficult to make such products yourself; it is better to buy them ready-made.
To close the pipe on the roof, roof penetrations, for example, of circular cross-section, are used
Step 6. Use a metal clamp to attach the chimney pipe to the rafter system structures. There is no need to insulate anything; at this distance from the boiler, the metal chimney has time to cool down.
Step 7. Place the glass skirt over the chimney. The glass has the ability to rotate and tilt in the skirt, which greatly simplifies the installation process.
Chimney passage through the roof
Step 8. You need to cut off the roofing sheet. The width should be 10÷15 centimeters greater than the width of the skirt, the length should correspond to the distance from the top edge of the skirt to the nearest formwork strip. When marking, carefully ensure that the waves in the cut piece of roofing coincide with the waves on the roof.
Roofing sealant prices
Step 9: Thoroughly coat the top of the roofing piece with sealant. Place a piece of roofing on the roof close to the skirt and secure it with self-tapping screws on each wave. Use self-tapping screws to tighten it around the perimeter.

Step 10. Lubricate the area where the glass meets the skirt with sealant and tighten both parts with self-tapping screws. Secure the skirt around the perimeter with self-tapping screws. All screws must have rubber seals.
After finishing work, be sure to check the tightness of all joints with water. If leaks are found, repair them immediately.

Design features of Termofor devices
The manufacturing company offers devices designed for specific climate conditions, i.e., designed for severe frosts. The combustion chambers of the furnaces are made of heat-resistant steel, previously used exclusively in the aircraft industry. Thanks to the use of chromium steel, heat is retained better, which is why the efficiency of the devices increases noticeably. All the company’s thermal devices use a double combustion system, which allows the steam room to be heated to the desired temperature in record time.
Company logo on the stove
Thus, to warm up a steam room to 100°C in winter, users of Termofor stoves spend approximately 60-70 minutes; in summer, they can begin bathing procedures within half an hour after heating. The air temperature rises quickly, and the hard IR radiation created by the heater is extinguished by a special convector casing. The steam room is dynamically heated by circulating air currents, which ensures a cozy and soft atmosphere.
All the manufacturer’s stoves are based on a pyramidal heater (it can be open or closed) of significant volume (in it the stones are heated simultaneously from 5 sides). The design also includes a thin-walled combustion chamber made of high-alloy steel, a water tank, a heat exchanger and the already mentioned convector casing.
Note! The capacity of the heater varies between 25-100 kg. At the same time, you can set/maintain the required temperature in the combustion chamber without even entering the steam room itself - this is possible thanks to the use of an external fuel channel (this is available in some models).
Separately, it is worth highlighting the self-cooling door of a unique design, which prevents burns from accidental touching. And if you equip the stove with a door made of heat-resistant glass, you can not only visually control the fuel combustion process, but also enjoy the sight of open flames.
Heating devices from the Termofor company are designed for baths with a volume of 4-24 m³. What is typical is that they not only heat the steam room, but also warm up the neighboring rooms, provide users with high-quality soft steam and, of course, heat the water. As for the method of installing the water tank, it all depends on the specific model. In some models, the samovar tank is located in the center, at the base of the chimney duct, which greatly simplifies operation. But in other models there is a heat exchanger with a remote tank. All water heating containers are made from high-quality stainless steel. If all operating conditions of the system are met, the water in the container will never boil, but will only heat up to 92-95°C.
Models of tanks and heat exchanger
How to choose the best one
To select the right model, you should proceed from the size of the room and the preferred heating method:
- If gas is supplied to the site, you can take a closer look at the gas heater stoves Urengoy Inox, Urengoy Carbon, Taimyr Inox and Taimyr Carbon.
- Power . The heating capacity is selected depending on the volume of the steam room and the manufacturer’s recommendations for each model. You should adhere to the rule - the value of the volume of the steam room should not be very close to the maximum recommended by the manufacturer for using this model. It is better to add 20 - 30% to the parameters. If the oven is constantly operating at its maximum capacity, this will negatively affect its service life and ease of use.
- Design features . If you like to watch the flame play in the burner, then you can purchase a model from the Vitra line. These stoves are distinguished by the large size of the viewing glass in the combustion door.
- Method of heating water . You can choose a model with a samovar tank installed on the chimney or take a closer look at stoves with a built-in heat exchanger, which allows you to move the water container from the steam room to the next room. For a small bathhouse for a couple of people, it is enough to install a model with a built-in tank.
- Firebox length . The extended combustion channel allows you to open the door into the adjacent room through the wall and load firewood there. This will keep the steam room clean. But, if you don’t want to go out once again to add firewood, you can choose a stove with a shortened combustion channel and loading firewood directly into the steam room.
Product advantages and disadvantages
The Termofor line of sauna stoves has acquired numerous positive reviews and high consumer ratings due to its following advantages:
Today more than a dozen different models are produced under the Termofor brand
Each of the models has its own dimensions, design features and power, which are maximally manifested in specific operating conditions. Typically, sauna stoves can be used not only in home steam rooms, but also in commercial saunas that have a large area. If we compare Termofor products with such Russian models as Ermak, Vulkankomplekt or Teplodar, then they have more compact dimensions, high fuel economy and an attractive design.
Note! Another advantage of the described stoves is that they are produced in several colors (terracotta, anthracite, stainless steel and chocolate), thanks to which they fit perfectly into any interior.
As for the disadvantages of these initially good stoves, they are not that the manufacturer does not know what and how to do, but that from a marketing point of view, established stereotypes are extremely important. For example, most sauna lovers, who rarely go to the steam room due to the lack of their own, believe that the ideal sauna stove is 100°C in the steam room and open stones. They are looking for something similar in specialized stores even before the construction of the foundation begins, which means that these are the units that sell best. Fortunately, for true admirers of the Russian bathhouse, more technically competent models are always created - not only attractive, but also functional.
Foundation
There may be two options here.
First - the bathhouse floors have already been laid
The option, let’s say right away, is not very pleasant. How to solve the problem? First you need to approximately calculate the total weight of the stove along with the brickwork.
The weight of the stove can be found in the manufacturer’s passport or catalog
The weight of one red solid brick is ≈ 3.5 kg, the masonry will be half a brick. There is no longer a need, such a thickness will ensure both normal heat transfer and sufficient stability of the structure.
Red brick weight
Weight of a pallet with bricks
There are recommendations to do quarter masonry (put the brick on edge), but we would not recommend it. Firstly, laying on edge requires considerable experience. Secondly, the stability of the structure is unsatisfactory.
For reference. The dimensions of a standard single brick are 250×120×65 mm. For one cubic meter of masonry you need approximately 520 pieces with a mortar thickness of approximately one centimeter. To make calculations easier, you need to remember that for 1 m2 of half-brick masonry you need ≈ 53 bricks. Take with reserve, there will inevitably be waste.
Standard sizes of solid bricks
Very important. Most “experts” advise using a clay solution when laying a stove; they talk “long and tediously” about the types of clay and other intricacies of preparing such a solution. Read this information carefully and use it only when installing stoves in your home. In a bathhouse, the clay will “flow” and be washed away over time, and you will have to do unscheduled repairs and seal unsightly seams. Conclusion - use only cement-sand mortar for laying stoves in the steam room; to minimize the risk of cracks, slightly reduce its thickness.
Find the location of the floor beam, you can find it by the floor nails. As a rule, during the construction of a bathhouse, timber is used under the flooring with a size of at least 100×100 mm; it can withstand up to 500 kg of weight. This is quite enough for a small metal stove; there is no need to reinforce the timber.
Photo of floor beams
Place a sheet of metal under the perimeter of the stove, it is advisable to make a thermal protection, strictly follow the rules of SNiP III-G.11-62.
It is not recommended to use asbestos sheets as a thermal insulation material; today there are harmless materials made from pressed mineral wool on sale.
Prices for mineral wool
For brickwork you need to make waterproofing (for fireclay - no need, it is not afraid of moisture). For waterproofing, it is better to take two layers of ordinary transparent polyethylene film - it is much more beautiful than black roofing felt. The protruding film must then be carefully trimmed around the perimeter of the masonry. Do not be afraid that such a stove base raises doubts about its reliability. If the chimneys were brick, yes, even minor “wobbles” of the stove could cause big problems. In our version, the chimneys will be made of metal pipes. At the connection points and at the points where they exit outside, the structure is “floating” and is capable of compensating for small vibrations.
Types of chimneys for baths
Second option. The floors have not yet been laid
The best option is to make a stable foundation for the stove. And the presence of a foundation significantly expands the possible options for stoves both in weight and design features. How to make a foundation?
Step, No. | Diagram or photo | Explanations |
Step 1. | Mark the dimensions of the pit; along the perimeter it should be 10 cm larger than the dimensions of the stove.
Step 2. | Digging a hole for the foundation | Dig a hole 50÷60 centimeters deep; it is not worth it deeper for two reasons. Firstly, in a bathhouse the depth of freezing of the soil is much less than in an open space. Secondly, the stove is not a design that requires a strong, stable foundation. |
Step 3. | Make a sand cushion at least 15 cm thick and compact it. It compensates for soil swelling, if such a fact occurs.
Step 4. | The foundation for the furnace is laid out from foundation blocks with dimensions 200x200x400, 200x300x400, 200x300x600. Masonry is carried out using cement-sand mortar gas silicate stove foundation (example) | For the furnace, you can install a simplified foundation made of concrete blocks, this is much faster and easier. Take concrete blocks of any size, the quantity depends on the size of the hole, place them on the cement mortar. Keep an eye on the horizontal position at all times. We do not recommend cutting blocks if their height exceeds the height of the floor. Firstly, it is quite difficult; you need a large diameter diamond disc. Secondly, the foundation protruding a few centimeters does not affect comfort in any way. |
At this point, the preparatory work is completed, and you can begin to directly install the stove with an external firebox.
Sauna stoves Termofor review
The company offers over 30 products - from small units designed for 4 m³ (for example, Osa) to high-power models capable of heating a room of up to 50 m³ (Kalina). According to the type of fuel used, all furnaces are divided into two large groups:
Let's look at each of the groups in more detail.
Stoves for baths and saunas
Decoding the abbreviation
The design of the RKGM, characterized by extreme simplicity, is shown schematically in Figure 1. The product contains a multi-wire conductor 1, covered with a layer 2 of rubber insulation. The functions of the top covering are performed by braid 3 of fiberglass threads. RKGM, according to the generally accepted classification, refers to wires because does not contain a dedicated full-fledged shell and various shielding coatings. Braid 3 of this product should be considered an element to reinforce the rubber insulation.
Traditionally in the electrical industry, the wire abbreviation contains the most important information for consumers. It comprehensively characterizes both the design of the wire and its main technical features.
The RKGM brand is formed according to the current rules, interpreted as:
- RK – rubber insulation (R) on an organosilicon, otherwise silicone base (K), which provides good temperature properties;
- G – multi-wire conductive copper core of at least the fourth class of flexibility (G) according to GOST 22483-2012, made of electrical copper;
- M – external braid with additional impregnation, applied directly to the main insulation without the use of an intermediate pad.
The design does not provide armor or other reinforcing coverings.
The digital index, which complements the letter part of the brand, is numerically equal to the cross-section of the conductor in square millimeters.

Gas sauna stoves
The range of the Siberian company consists not only of wood-burning stoves, because it includes four modifications of gas equipment. They are not as popular as the ancestor of the Russian bath - traditional wood-burning stoves, but they still have their customers.
Note! All models are divided into two groups according to the type of material used. This can be heat-resistant “stainless steel” (these are models from the Inox line) and high-quality structural steel (Carbon). Representatives of the Carbon line are cheaper, but at the same time retain all the characteristics and traditional design. True, they are somewhat inferior in terms of service life.

Chimney
This is more complex work; we will consider both options for venting gases - through the wall and through the roof.
Chimney prices
Chimney outlet through the wall
For the chimney we will take an ordinary metal pipe; the individual sections are connected into a socket.
Step, No. | Photo | Description |
Step 1. | Measure the distance from the boiler to the wall, taking into account the linear dimensions of the elbow. Measure the height of the hole in the wall.
Step 2. | Chimney elbow | To install a chimney, in addition to straight pipe sections, you will need at least two elbows: one to turn the pipe above the boiler (the chimney will be in a horizontal position), the second to turn the pipe on the street to a vertical position. |
Step 3. | Chimney hole We cut a square hole in the wall and insert a minerite slab with a round opening for the chimney. | Make a hole in the wall at the desired height. This is quite a difficult job; you will have to use long wood drills, chisels, and a gasoline saw. Drill the maximum number of holes around the perimeter of the future opening with a drill, chisel or chisel, remove the jumpers between the holes - you will get an uneven hole. Use a saw to even out the edges of the pothole; you won’t be able to make it round, let it be square. On the sides of the square, the distance to the chimney should be at least 10 centimeters. |
Step 4. | Cut the metal pipe exactly to size, taking into account the socket joint. Important: the connection into the socket must be made in the direction of the smoke. Otherwise, turbulence may occur, which significantly reduces traction. All connections must be coated with heat-resistant sealant (black).
Step 5. | Exiting the pipe through the wall to the street | Pre-assemble the chimney in the bathhouse; a piece of pipe at least 10 centimeters long should protrude onto the street. |
Step 6. | Fastening the steel sheet Insulated cutting in the wall | Where the chimney passes through the wall, place small pieces of brick or stones under the bottom of the pipe; this will prevent the pipe from touching wooden structures. Insulate the hole with mineral wool or glass wool, and nail sheet steel on both sides. Do not forget to put a metal protective sheet on the pipe before assembling the chimney. |
Step 7 | Reinforced mounting of the chimney to the wall Chimney pipe installation | At this point the interior work is completed, you can go outside. Here you will need another elbow to move the horizontal pipe from the wall to a vertical position. You can fasten the pipe to the wall using ordinary brackets (the same ones used to fix drainage systems). The top of the chimney must be closed with a hinged cap. |
Preparing the Termofor furnace for operation
Installation of the stove and chimney must be carried out in accordance with SNiP 41-01-2003.

What to make it from?
Several variants of furnace designs have been developed. This can be a simple barrel in which firewood is placed on top and the air flow is blocked by a gate valve. It will take more time to produce an analogue of industrial samples with a system of convection pipes and a separate gas combustion chamber.
The simplest and most uncomplicated scheme is a Butakov stove made from a gas cylinder. In this option, you can do without convection pipes or use 2-3 convection inserts.
We will examine in more detail the production of an analogue of an industrial design with a rectangular shape and a complete circuit of convection tubes and a system for long-term pyrolysis burning of wood. This design is the most productive and economical.
But during the manufacturing process it will be necessary to perform turning and drilling work. You can take the dimensions and bend angle from industrial sample pipes. The amount of material required for work depends on the chosen option and the dimensions of the furnace.
Commissioning rules
Before starting the first heating, it is necessary to ensure that the stove, water tank, chimney pipe and protective structures have been installed in accordance with the requirements mentioned above.
Note! During the first heating, oils used on metal surfaces and organic silicate enamel components may emit odor and smoke. This is quite normal, and in the future they will not stand out.
Obviously, the first start should be carried out only with the doors and windows open (the procedure should last at least an hour), the combustion chamber is fully loaded, the tank is full and the heater is empty. If all structural elements are working normally, then after heating is completed, the room is ventilated and the water is drained from the tank.
Stones can be loaded after the device body has completely cooled down and the paint has completely hardened.

How to drown
Before using the oven, remove any protective films or stickers from the oven. The first fire is traditionally carried out outdoors to burn off residual oils and the smell of factory paint.
When heating outdoors, the stove should be equipped with several chimney segments for draft. Otherwise, the combustion will be unstable or the wood will not be able to light at all.
Important! If you purchased a stove with a heat exchanger or a samovar-type tank, you should fill it with water even when pre-igniting it outside to prevent the stove from breaking down.
Useful tips
Creating electrics in a bathhouse with your own hands is a rather difficult task. It is necessary to select the right materials, create a suitable circuit, and correctly calculate the power of all household appliances. When working, it is recommended to follow the tips below:
- Choose materials for saunas and steam rooms with heat-resistant insulation.
- If the section of the line is a trunk line, checkpoints with a minimum cross-section of 16 sq.m. are used.
- Sockets and switches are mounted on a metal plate.
- Fire-resistant insulation must be laid under sections of lines.
- Tubes for installation must be corrugated flexible PVC plastic.
- If the bathhouse is made of logs, timber or clapboard, it is better to treat it with an antiseptic to increase its water-repellent properties.
Brand series
Gas stoves belong to the Urengoy and Taimyr series, each of which can be produced in one of the following modifications:
- Inox, is a heat-resistant stainless steel;
- Carbon - made of thickened structural steel.
All varieties are equipped with an open type heater, are modest in size and look modern.
Wood stoves have a wider range of products:
- "Skoroparka" . It can quickly heat water to steam and maintain a comfortable temperature and optimal humidity in the room.
- "Vitruvia" . Warming up a room with a volume of up to 18 m3. The capacity of the heater is 45 kg.
- "Tunguska". The stove with an overhead heater has compact dimensions and high efficiency.
- "Angara". A wood-burning stove with a volumetric firebox, a heater, a capacity of up to 70 kilograms, equipped with a heat exchanger and a tank for heating water.
- "Kalina". Suitable for commercial use. Capable of heating a steam room with a volume of up to 30 m3. The manufacturer's warranty is 3 years, but in practice such units can be continuously used for 8 or even 10 years.
- "Geyser" - provides the ability to heat large rooms - up to 40 m3, and is characterized by high efficiency.
- "Sayans". Model size XXL, heater with a volume of 150 l will allow you to maintain a high temperature even in a very large steam room. Visually, the design resembles a barrel.
Reviews
Owners who have purchased various models of Termofor stoves for their baths mostly speak positively about them. Heating devices are valued for their reliability, fastidiousness in operation, excellent efficiency with little use of firewood. At the same time, most modifications, thanks to a transparent screen, provide an excellent picture of burning wood, which is also appreciated by many.
In general, they note that at this price this is the most profitable choice of domestic heating devices for a country bath. Of the gas options, they respond most positively to the Termofor Taimyr Carbon models, and of the wood-burning ones, they give preference to the Angara and Tunguska stoves.
