Mobile trailer sauna - design and construction rules

Who doesn't love a Russian bathhouse? It not only allows you to rest and relax, but also improves your well-being, relieves stress and improves your health. But building a permanent brick bathhouse in a country house or next to a house is not always affordable. Is there a way out of this situation? There is a solution - mobile saunas made of timber. It can be erected in a very short time, and the mobile structure is suitable not only for a summer residence, but also for teams that are forced to live at the construction site for a long time.

General rules for cleaning stretch ceilings

If we want to properly wash a matte or glossy stretch ceiling without leaving streaks, we must follow the general cleaning rules. We list the most important ones:

  • before performing work, remove jewelry, watches, bracelets and other objects that may damage the susceptible surface;
  • Do not remove dirt with a knife, a brush with stiff bristles, or any kind of scrapers made of metal or plastic;
  • You should use a soft sponge, making circular movements in the direction of the joining seam;
  • Cleaning products that contain abrasive particles cannot be used, otherwise they will damage the surface;
  • acetone dissolves the material from which the suspended ceiling is made and is capable of making holes in it;
  • It is not allowed to press too hard on the surface when cleaning and bring it into contact with the ceiling itself;
  • It is most correct to use a glass cleaner with ammonia, after using which there will be no streaks.

It is easy to ruin a stretch ceiling with a long-handled mop because it is difficult to regulate the pressure exerted on the film. For cleaning purposes, you can carefully use a vacuum cleaner with a soft attachment, trying not to touch the surface being treated with it while working. It is necessary to take care of the ceiling in the kitchen especially carefully, because it is in this room that the largest amount of contaminants is deposited on it

Staff

A business like this should be started as a family business. In this case, you will not have to resort to the services of strangers.

To operate a mobile bathhouse, you will need a driver and a bathhouse attendant. The role of the driver can be performed by an entrepreneur, and a steamer can be hired from outside. Such staff makes it possible to significantly reduce the costs of starting an enterprise.

You should be serious about hiring staff and eliminating people who drink. For the position of bathhouse attendant, you need to invite a person who can win over clients and cope with his duties perfectly.

As the business expands, the staff can include: a bartender, a massage therapist, and an auto mechanic.

Mobile sauna on wheels: types

Of course, there are quite a lot of options for a bathhouse in a car or on a trailer, and they are all very different. There are options for industrially manufactured mobile steam rooms.

In addition to expensive factory assembly, you can buy a homemade bathhouse for GAZ 66 from small companies. There are many models of mobile steam baths based on residential trailers, kungs, buses, old repair shops and simply single-axle trailers for a passenger car converted into a bathhouse. Autobaths can vary in price and provide completely different levels of comfort for bathing procedures.

Sauna on a trailer

For the average user, the best choice would be an autobahn on a two-axle carriage. In the simplest version, this can be a version of a mobile bathhouse - a trailer on wheels with a two-axle configuration. It is also called trailer for its low ground clearance and good stability. A trailer-mounted bathhouse rarely exceeds 2.5-2.8 m in length and 180 cm in width.

The maximum weight does not exceed 700 kg. The design of the bathhouse trailer uses a cladding made of metal siding under timber or logs. It is impossible to leave OSB or plywood uncovered from the wind; when moving, the oncoming wind flow, and even with rain, very quickly renders the wooden surface unusable.

The advantages of a bathhouse on a trailer include:

  • Compact, a car with a mobile steam room can drive along any routes and roads, without restrictions;
  • No permits are needed to convert the carriage into a bathhouse trailer, the main thing is that the axle load and external dimensions do not go beyond the permitted limits;
  • Low price and the opportunity to build a mobile sauna with your own hands. The average cost for re-equipping a trailer is 40% of the cost of building a stationary version of the steam room.

The most luxurious bathhouses are made on the basis of a trailer or semi-trailer attached to a truck tractor. In essence, this is an ordinary autobath installed on a car platform. The price of a bathhouse measuring 3.4x8 m on a three-axle trailer is 8-9 thousand dollars.

The best mobile saunas are made from full-size travel trailers - trailers and camper vans. A simple used trailer of the “Hobby Prestige” type will cost 2-2.5 thousand dollars. For the equipment of the steam room and installation of the stove, another 300-400 dollars, and the mobile autobath will be able to serve for another twenty years.

Bathhouse on the bus

PAZ 3205 buses are being successfully converted into a bathhouse, photo.

Thanks to the use of a domestic base, such a bathhouse costs even less than a trailer or trailer of a similar class, approximately 5-6 thousand dollars.

There is also an autobath based on Ikarus and LIAZ vehicles, but city buses are not suitable for arranging a comfortable steam room. The carriage proportions and heavy metal frame quickly cool down the room.

Bathhouse based on GAZ 66

Of all the existing auto versions of a mobile sauna, a steam room based on a “lawn” is rightly considered one of the best, especially if room comfort and high vehicle cross-country ability are required.

The GAZ 66 sauna on wheels will go over any off-road terrain; in fact, the “lawn” is best suited for conversion into a mobile steam room:

  • The aluminum kung or booth is insulated with foam plastic; the propulsion system has a built-in industrial voltage electric current generator;
  • The design of the machine has a built-in diesel heater - a heater that can easily raise it in 10 minutes. steam room temperature to the required 80°C;
  • The powerful machine is capable of transporting a trailer with a residential module, a mobile electrical installation or a refrigerator.

How to set up a sauna on wheels

Before making a bathhouse on wheels, excess elements are removed, after which the structure can be mounted.

Frame assembly

The structure is under heavy loads. Therefore, the base of the frame is made of metal profiles and stiffeners.

You can buy, make your own, or order the components of a caravan frame. Then a metal stove is installed. The place under it is insulated with heat-resistant material, for example, asbestos. The floor is reinforced to withstand the load. The oven must be well fixed. On the side there is a niche for heating water through the wall. Dry steam stones should be secured by drilling holes in them and stringing them on a wire. Instead of stones, there may be electrical insulators.

The trailer is installed on the main support (leg) and four additional ones - against swaying. The entry or exit step is made after the side is folded down.

Assembly of the main structure

The floor is assembled from logs and boards. There is a water drain at the bottom of the steam room. Everything is attached to a metal base.

A beam with strapping is installed under the walls, then the rafters with the roof are mounted.

Bath decoration

Natural materials look best as exterior finishing. Siding made of wood creates a feeling of comfort and brings the look of a bathhouse on wheels closer to a stationary one.

The interior finishing is no worse than in a regular bathhouse - waterproofing, insulation with a thickness of at least 15 cm, lining with foil, and then clapboard made of linden or other wood that does not release resin when heated. In such a bath you can take all the necessary procedures, after which the steam room can be rinsed with water from a hose.

Photo of a sauna on wheels in a simple minivan

All parts should be secured so that nothing falls during transportation and the bench does not move around the steam room. At the same time, shelves with bars should be easily removable so that they can be dried outside.

For lighting, lamps and electrical wiring are used that are resistant to moisture and high temperature. Ordinary wires can withstand temperatures of no more than 500C. Here the requirements are the same as for a regular steam room.

Power sources can be a 12V car battery or a 220V generator.

Bathhouse interior

The shelf is made retractable or folding. There must be tanks for hot and cold water. If there is space, a bar counter is also installed and a flat-screen TV is hung on the wall in the recreation room. Video equipment diversifies your vacation and increases comfort.

The interior of the autobath is the same as a stationary one: a steam room, a shower room, a rest room, and wooden panels.

When used in winter, the bathhouse is equipped with an additional heater, which is used for the interiors of trucks during parking. The exit to the veranda is covered with a canopy that protects from precipitation.

If the bathhouse is installed instead of the back of a truck, it is more stable than on a trailer. There is a real opportunity to make money here. Prices for services range from 800 to 1000 rubles. at one o'clock.

The video shows the technology for assembling a solid plank floor:

Formation of a leaking floor in a bathhouse

Before making the floor in the steam room in the form of a leaky flooring, it is necessary to form the floor under the boards. After all, the boardwalk is laid with gaps between its elements. Because the water must flow down, collect there and be discharged outside the bathhouse or go deep into the ground. Therefore, several options are offered:

Attention! Some craftsmen recommend reducing the cost of the process of forming a concrete base. To do this, instead of concrete, a layer of fatty clay is laid. It does not allow water to pass through itself well, so there will be no problems with the drainage of the latter.

As for the construction of a wooden floor, the logs are laid with their ends either on the foundation of the bathhouse, or columns of blocks or bricks are erected under them. The process of installing floorboards is simple, because it does not require precise adjustment of the elements to each other. After all, a gap of at least 5 mm should be left between them.

Some craftsmen recommend making the flooring removable. That is, the flooring itself is made in the form of panels, which are simply laid on the joists and are not attached to them. This is done so that, if necessary, the shields can be removed and taken outside to dry. It will also be easier to carry out work under a plank floor if, for example, it is necessary to clean a drainage layer or a concrete base with a drainage ditch.

Peculiarities

Previously, where large numbers of people relax in nature, there was no opportunity to wash themselves properly. A wonderful idea could be to organize the work of transportable (mobile) steam rooms.

If, for example, you work too far from the city, then a mobile bathhouse will give you the opportunity to wash and steam without any problems at a time that suits you.

The Russian mobile bathhouse consists of a steam compartment and an oversized room for relaxing and changing clothes. The stove can be wood, gas or electric. The interior lining is natural wood. This bathhouse can accommodate up to 5-6 people.

This type of device cannot be used while driving. On sharp turns or bumps, when starting to move or while braking, a person washing may fall, hit, or get burned. The firebox of a mobile sauna stove is usually located outside for greater safety.

Device

A mobile bathhouse on wheels requires the presence of a steam room and a dressing room, which, of course, should be located at the entrance. If there is free space in trucks, the possibility of installing a dry closet is considered. If space allows, a built-in tank for cold and hot water will make the sauna on wheels even more mobile and independent of the presence of natural reservoirs nearby. The water consumption rate in this case is at least 60 liters per person. It can be installed on the roof of a body or trailer by running the drain hose inside. Before going outdoors, you need to make sure the tank is filled.

In order to build a mobile bathhouse on wheels, you don’t need to have any special knowledge, but having one or two smart assistants won’t hurt. Work on remaking a car requires knowledge of working with a drill, grinder and welding machine. It is also worth hiring a qualified electrician.

Sauna on wheels

Frame

Increased loads during transportation require the presence of additional stiffening ribs to support the structure.

Frame installation consists of the following steps:

  • Assembling a wooden floor base and mounting it on a metal structure
  • Construction of load-bearing wall supports and their subsequent installation
  • Installation of the roof base and covering it with the selected material.
  • If the carrying capacity of the machine allows, you can equip an additional folding platform for equipping a mobile rest area.

External insulation and wiring

Heating a bathhouse is an energy-consuming activity. It is for this reason that windows are made from energy-saving double-glazed windows of reduced size. They are usually located near the ceiling.

Before installing thermal insulation, it is worth calculating its weight and choosing the appropriate option. The outer walls of a motorbath on wheels can be covered with wooden beams, having previously placed a layer of mineral wool or thick foam under them. Between the insulation and the layer of decorative outer sheathing, it is necessary to lay a layer of heat-insulating foil, fixing the places of its joints. The better and better the insulation is, the faster the heating of the bath room will occur, which will accordingly increase its efficiency. You can bring the temperature to 100 degrees in such a car bath on wheels in 45-50 minutes.

Wiring should be done only using high-quality heat-resistant materials and components. Such an important piece of furniture as a lamp must be chosen taking into account all fire safety requirements in rooms with high humidity.

Useful tips

The construction of a small private bathhouse on a personal plot is a complex and responsible undertaking. To get a decent result of your work, experts recommend drawing up a detailed plan for the construction process. This will simplify the passage of the main stages of work and avoid serious mistakes.

Step-by-step instructions for building a mini-bath include the following steps:

  • Choosing a location on a building site.
  • Construction of a foundation for a bathhouse.
  • Construction of walls, partitions and interfloor ceilings.
  • Installation of the rafter system.
  • Thermal insulation, waterproofing and vapor barrier of walls, ceilings and floors.
  • External insulation and cladding.
  • Installation of heating equipment and chimney.
  • Laying floors, installing door and window structures.
  • Communications supply.
  • Internal cladding of premises.
  • Selection and arrangement of furniture, bath accessories.

Installation of a trailer sauna at the location

If we are talking about the temporary installation of a trailer bathhouse, then the first step is to uncouple it from the vehicle. In order for the bathhouse to be stable, you need to strengthen it with a supporting leg. The platform will rest on it. For better stability of the structure, install 3 additional supports. Thus, to prevent the trailer sauna from swaying, you need to install it on 4 support legs.

After this, you can fold back the side of the trailer and lower the ladder. All this takes no more than a quarter of an hour.

Video description

The video shows how you can pour a concrete floor in a bathhouse:

And one moment. The floor must be kept in this condition for 28 days - no less. During this time, the concrete will gain its original strength. After which it can be loaded and covered. Although, under normal temperature conditions, finishing can begin in a couple of weeks.

If you decide to make the floors in the bathhouse warm, then it is better to lay the heating system under ceramic tiles. If you decide to cover a concrete surface with wooden gratings, then the heated floor system will have to be installed in the floor base itself. To do this, you will need to fill in two layers. The first main one is thick, and the heating system is installed on it. The second is a thin screed in which the “warm floor” will remain.

What work will be required

A bathhouse in the basement of a private house needs high-quality comprehensive insulation. Since it belongs to rooms with high humidity, this implies the penetration of steam into the walls. We are talking about deep penetration into the structure of the material, which will lead to its excessive wetting. As a result, the insulating layer will begin to deteriorate, so it is recommended to provide an air corridor between the thermal insulation and the wall, which will solve the problem of air drying out. The width of the corridor should not be more than 10-20 centimeters.

It is better not to use polystyrene foam as an insulation material, as it tends to emit harmful fumes when exposed to high temperatures. For these purposes, a special thermal insulation material is used, which is intended for this type of work.

Natural wood is an ideal material for sauna cladding. However, you should not cover it with varnish, which, like polystyrene foam, emits harmful vapors when exposed to high temperatures. An underground bathhouse with your own hands must, first of all, be safe for health, so such materials must be excluded.

Selection of materials

The first question a builder faces is what is better to take, stone, brick or wood?
In this case, we are considering the option of a wooden bathhouse, which can be built in two ways - frame or log house. Wood has been used as a material for bath buildings since ancient times. Advantages:

  • environmental Safety;
  • cheapness;
  • simple processing;
  • the presence of useful essential resins that have a good effect on human health;
  • durability with proper care.

Wood cannot be called an ideal material, as there are many difficulties. For example, it is not easy to ensure that the walls are even; only high-quality timber or logs with precise cutting are suitable for this.

There is also a shrinkage factor - the wood dries out and becomes deformed, so it is important to dry the wood in order to reduce the percentage of shrinkage before the finished log “goes” to the wrong place.

Most often, hardwood is used for construction; a linden bathhouse is especially good. Linden weighs little, allowing you to save on the foundation. There are options from poplar, birch, and pine.

Making a sauna on wheels with your own hands

When deciding to independently manufacture a mobile bathhouse, all work can be divided into several stages: preparation, installation and testing of the functionality of the assembled structure.

Preparatory stage

During this period, the layout of the construction site is determined, which is tied to the base used (trailer, truck, platform, etc.). After that, the materials that need to be used when performing the work are determined, based on what is available and the financial capabilities of the user. The necessary tools and equipment are being prepared.

Sketch of the frame of a mobile bathhouse placed on a car trailer

Installation of a mobile sauna

In this section of the article we will consider the option of manufacturing a mobile bathhouse of a frame structure, placed on a car trailer. To make the frame, lumber (wooden block) or metal profile (angle, square pipe) can be used, and mineral wool or polystyrene foam can be used as insulation. For interior decoration, natural wood is used, and for exterior decoration, edged boards, corrugated sheets or slab materials made from wood processing waste are used.

IllustrationDescription of actions

Using wooden blocks, the frame of the structure being manufactured is assembled on the trailer platform. The connection of frame elements is carried out using the tongue-and-groove type and using fastening plates and self-tapping screws.

The internal lining of the assembled frame is carried out, for which plywood 10-12 mm thick can be used, after which insulation is laid into the frame.

The frame is covered from the outside; for this purpose, in this case, natural wood (edged board) is used, secured with self-tapping screws and mounting angles installed in the corners of the structure and the locations of structural elements (windows, doors, etc.).

A stove is installed, and fire-fighting measures are taken (sheets of asbestos and metal and other fire-resistant materials), and enclosing structures are installed to prevent users from getting thermal burns.

Interior finishing and furniture manufacturing (benches, canopies, etc.) are carried out.

Functionality check

At this stage, the operation of the installed stove is checked, which is expressed in the removal of waste combustion products and the rate of heating of the room, as well as heating of water in the storage tank.

In addition, it is necessary to check the driving performance of the assembled structure and its ability to stand firmly on the surface of the earth.

Briefly about the main thing

In the bathhouse, two building materials are used to form the floors: wood or concrete.

If boards are selected, then the floor can be assembled as a continuous covering or laid with a gap.

If concrete is chosen, it is better to insulate the floor using expanded clay or slab material in the form of penoplex. You can install a “warm floor” system.

If you decide to lay a wooden leaky floor, then underneath it you will need to organize either a drain towards the cesspool, or make a drainage layer of crushed stone.

Concrete floors are stronger, more durable, but much more expensive than wood.

Advantages and disadvantages of a mobile sauna on wheels

A mobile sauna on wheels has a lot of advantages, the presence of which explains the constant increase in their popularity. The most important of them are:

  • a mobile bathhouse in its layout and functionality is no different from permanently installed structures;
  • mobility and the ability to use in various locations and conditions of use;
  • Various types of raw materials or energy can be used as fuel: firewood and peat, fuel briquettes and pellets, gas and liquid fuel, as well as electrical energy;
  • the possibility of making it yourself, in accordance with the required parameters (geometric dimensions) and material wealth (materials and designs used);
  • for installation on a land plot, it is not necessary to obtain permits, as in the case of the construction of capital structures.

To transfer a bathhouse on wheels from a transport position to a working position, a minimum of time and labor is required

Among the disadvantages of this design, it should be noted that:

  • It is not recommended to use a mobile sauna while moving;
  • limited volume does not allow placing sufficient supplies of water in such a structure, so water should be transported in a separate container or a mobile unit should be placed next to a reservoir;
  • when placed on a trailer, the structure must have fastening elements that ensure reliable fixation at the location on the ground.

Option for arranging the internal space of a mobile bathRelated article:

Arrangement

It is worth paying special attention to the arrangement of the bathhouse, especially to the construction of partitions.
First, a frame is made from 50*100 mm boards or 50*50 mm bars, which runs along the perimeter of the walls, and the door frame is attached to it.

Then the frame is sheathed. The best option in this case is tongue-and-groove boards, which will ensure greater structural rigidity and the absence of cracks.

The boards for the partition can be made shorter than the height of the remaining walls by 4-5 cm. This compensates for the possible shrinkage of the bathhouse, which will inevitably occur over time.

The boards must be fixed as tightly as possible to each other and to the frame, after which the baseboards are attached to the bottom of the partition. For greater sealing, cracks can be caulked with tow moistened with gypsum mortar.

In principle, the partitions can be made double, leaving free space between them. If desired, this space can be filled with any thermal insulation material. In this case, one side is assembled first, then the other, at the same time the insulation is laid.

Water drainage

In addition to partitions, in arranging a small bathhouse made of timber, the organization of water drainage is very important. The most common is drainage sewerage. It will be quite sufficient, since the volume of flowing water is small. For the drainage pit you will need crushed stone, gravel and sand. Water passing through them will be filtered and flow into the ground. First, a place for the well is selected and a trench is dug to drain the water. A drainage pipe is laid in this trench, which goes into a hole with crushed stone, gravel and sand at its bottom.

If you are building a small frame bathhouse at your dacha with your own hands, it is more advisable to install a septic tank immediately for the bathhouse, bathroom and kitchen. Wastewater, passing through 3 wells connected by pipes made of cast iron or plastic, is purified and thoroughly filtered and then sent to the soil.

Installation of the oven, tray and benches

Installing a stove in a small frame bathhouse differs from a traditional one at least in that a traditionally conventional bathhouse involves building a foundation for the stove, which is impossible to implement in a transportable one. This problem can be solved very simply - the transportable bathhouse uses a mini oven, which has less weight.

Also, regardless of the design of the bathhouse, you will have to separately take care of the benches and tray, which you cannot do without. Pallets are made from different materials, the most popular of which are enamel, earthenware and acrylic pallets. If you wish, you can build it yourself in any shape.

There are a couple of tips regarding materials and manufacturing techniques that may be useful. Firstly, in order to save space, the table can be made folding.

Secondly, the benches must be made of moisture-resistant wood. Not every tree has such characteristics, but only a few, for example linden, oak, aspen, maple.

Thirdly, the wood must have low thermal conductivity, for example, larch. Such a bench will not heat up too much.

Moreover, the wood of the above species contains useful substances that promote health.

So, transportable mini baths are an excellent option for a summer residence. They have a lot of advantages and, as you may have already seen, are quite simple in terms of their construction.

Nuances of fortification design

It is necessary to understand that the bathhouse will not always be in motion, and therefore it is worth the installation to take care of the supporting elements that will be needed for a static installation of the bathhouse. If you create a sauna on a trailer with your own hands, then you can attach a special “leg” as a support for the main one. also Read: “How to make a bathhouse from a container with your own hands.”

Then 4 more support elements are installed at the corners of the trailer, and the side of the structure is folded back. The board is organized in such a way that it also includes steps, which will provide unobstructed access inside. Proper assembly will allow you to set up a field bathhouse in just 15 minutes on any terrain.

Documentation

All sorts of non-standard vehicles can arouse interest among traffic police officers, and quite justifiably so. The parameters and dimensions of any car/SUV/bus, even a converted one, must meet certain standards that ensure safe travel on the road. Therefore, before making a car bath, consider the height and side projections of the structure.

Another important point, which we already talked about a little above, is the maximum weight load of the car. If you make the bathhouse too heavy, it will immediately turn from mobile to sedentary. If you plan to use the autobath for business, then you need to register an individual enterprise (individual enterprise).

Building a sauna on wheels with your own hands

The process of building a mobile bathhouse is similar to the construction of a regular one and includes several stages.

Stage 1. Design

Before starting construction, you need to correctly draw up a drawing. You can draw it by hand on a piece of paper or create it in a special program; the advantage of the latter is the ability to assess the proportionality of the future building, calculate the amount of building materials, etc.

It's no secret that Russian roads are a difficult test for transport; they are uneven, so cars constantly sway. To prevent a bathhouse on a trailer from overturning, it is necessary to correctly design the centers of gravity - the ceiling and the stove.

You can limit yourself to just a steam room or, if the area of the future building allows, make a dressing room and shower.

The bathhouse must have containers, a drain, and a dry closet. The windows are made small or removed altogether, according to personal desire; you also need to draw the doors.

Since you will be transporting the bathhouse on the road, do not forget that it has its own dimensions.

Stage 2. Frame assembly

Obviously, such a structure will experience enormous loads, so high-quality and reliable materials are used to create the frame - metal profiles and stiffeners.

When you arrive at the right place, the structure will need reliable support, as well as 4 additional ones, so that the bathhouse remains in a stationary position and does not sway. You also need to think about the folding side along which you will climb/descend.

The layout inside, as already mentioned, is a personal matter for everyone. But if space allows, we recommend making two sections: a steam room and a relaxation area.

Stage 3. Installing a sauna stove

The firebox should be located on the outside of the bathhouse, but in this case there is a possibility that while you get to the place, stones will fall out. In order to avoid this, you need to drill each stone and connect them with wire.

This arrangement of the firebox is not only better from a safety point of view, but also more convenient. With this design, firewood will not be stacked inside the room, and all the smoke will come out.

Stage 4. Exterior decoration of the bathhouse

The most popular option for exterior finishing is wood siding. Natural wood creates a special coziness and gives a homely atmosphere typical of a real bathhouse. In addition, wood siding is a high-quality material that has high performance characteristics and will serve faithfully for many years.

Stage 5. Interior decoration of the bath

The finishing of a mobile bathhouse is in no way inferior to the interior finishing of a stationary bathhouse. Typically, here, as in the external design, lining is used. But, of course, you must not forget about insulating the walls. To do this, you first need to make waterproofing, insulation more than 15 cm thick, cover it with foil, and then lay out the lining of natural wood. Suitable options include alder, larch, linden, aspen, etc.

It is important not to use species that release resins when heated, so it is better to avoid coniferous trees in the steam room

Stage 6. Interior decoration

The decoration of a bathhouse on wheels coincides in style with the design of a regular bathhouse. In the steam room you need to make wide shelves. It is recommended to prepare benches for rest, water tanks, a shower and a dry closet.

Thermal insulation

In order for a bathhouse on wheels to be reliable, it must be properly insulated. The optimal width of the thermal insulation cake for a mobile structure is 15 cm. The sequence of thermal insulation is:

  • Installation of sheathing made of beams with a cross-section of 6 cm.
  • Laying vapor barrier and mineral wool.
  • Heat reflector flooring, such as foil.
  • The joints of the foil should be sealed with tape.
  • Installation of counter lathing.

If you are making a bathhouse in an old truck, then thermal insulation should be applied to the walls. In all other cases - on a metal frame covered with wood.

Body reinforcement

The technical part of the process of creating a bathhouse should begin with the dismantling of everything unnecessary. The structure of the bathhouse will experience significant load. therefore, it is necessary to take care of the power frame. On its basis, metal profiles are welded, stiffeners are attached, and a stove is installed.

After installing the stove, you can cover the roof and do the final interior finishing. To install electric lighting in bathhouses of all formats, heat-resistant wiring should be used, since ordinary wires cannot withstand temperatures above 50 C. Heat-resistant and water-insulating lamps are used.

The most important design element is the stove, which many people prefer to make themselves. This is a version of a “potbelly stove” with a platform for a heater and a welded tank for heating water. Heating options for a factory-made oven are used with electricity, gas, or wood.

The installation site of the stove is finished with heat-resistant, non-flammable material. The floor is strengthened - the weight of the stove can reach 300 kg. The classic filling is jadeite stones, which must be strung into “beads” on stainless steel. This is necessary for safety while driving. The furnace body itself must also be securely fixed.

Safety

Using a tourist bath involves working with fire, so you need to remember the safety rules. If the fire escapes the stove and spreads to the tent, there will be a fire, so it needs to be monitored closely.

The place to install the bathhouse should be cleared of grass, dry leaves, and brushwood - when the stove is lit, they can catch fire and set the tent on fire. The tent is usually made of flammable materials, so they need to be kept away from fire. It is worth installing a spark arrestor on the pipe of a camp sauna. Furnaces are equipped with protective screens that protect against burns.

To prevent sparks from flying out, a spark arrester is installed on the bathhouse chimney.

The frame of the tent must be reliable and durable, able to easily withstand gusts of wind and mechanical loads. It is best to make it from flexible metal rods: hollow pipes are easy to bend, as a result of which the structure becomes unusable, and the rods break with great difficulty.

To prevent the metal base from breaking, it needs resistance to corrosion processes, severe frosts and high heat.

Drafting

The first step is to make a bathhouse design on paper or electronically. This will allow you to assess the proportionality of the future steam room and select building materials

Here it is important to take into account everything, down to the smallest detail - the total weight of the structure, the load on the wheel axle, as well as the power of the furnace

If you have enough space in a mobile bathhouse design, then its design should include the following mandatory zones:

Steam room

As an addition, the steam room can be equipped with a dry closet, as well as tanks for cold/hot water. In this case, the mobile bathhouse can be used regardless of whether there is a body of water near the place of rest or not.

When planning a bathhouse on wheels, you should think about the presence/absence of window openings. They are sources of heat loss, so in any case, windows should have minimal dimensions. In principle, you can completely abandon windows in a mobile bathhouse. This is a fairly secluded place for relaxation and prying eyes will be unnecessary here.

Exterior finishing

If you want to make a cozy bath not only inside, but also outside, then use wooden siding as cladding. Agree that plastic banners with painted logs are completely devoid of comfort. If you add carved frames on small windows, cute steps and kerosene lanterns to the wooden cladding, your autobath will be truly charming.

For safety reasons, the door to the bathhouse should be installed so that it opens not inward, but outward.

Mobile bathhouse: portable and transportable

  • shelves - should be as wide as possible, and by design: folding or pull-out;
  • rest bench;
  • containers for cold and heated water;
  • as additional premises you can create a shower room and even a dry closet;
  • If you have enough space, you can install a bar counter, hang a modern TV, etc.

The article describes in detail the features of trailer-based mobile saunas. From all of the above, it becomes clear that the procedure for constructing such a structure will not cause any particular difficulties. If you want to save money on bath procedures and get your own personal bath complex on wheels, you can always use the recommendations presented in the article or contact specialists.

A professional builder can easily purchase all the necessary materials, and then assemble a bathhouse from them and put it into operation, installing it on a trailer base.

  1. The most important advantage of the autobahn is the opportunity to relax in the steam room anywhere and anytime. Large trucks are most often used for this task, although if the structure must accommodate only a couple of people, an ordinary passenger car can be used. Some craftsmen are able to turn even buses into bathhouses.
  2. Opportunity to start your own business. Thus, the arrangement of the structure will help not only family members, but also casual visitors on the beaches or in the forests to enjoy their vacation. To create a design, special knowledge and a large number of workers are not required: for example, only two or three workers will be able to cope with the creation of this “trailer”.

  1. The costs that went into designing a bathhouse may not be recouped.
  2. When creating a bathhouse, you must obtain the appropriate permit for its construction.

Options

Let's look at the positive and negative characteristics of a steam room on wheels.

First, let's look at the advantages:

  • This is the most convenient option for mass recreation - camping, tent camps. Thanks to the mobile design, there is no need to set up a separate room for a bathhouse.
  • From the inside, the mobile steam room is practically no different from a regular bathhouse and has a similar layout.
  • The building can be heated with wood, electricity, or natural gas.
  • A mobile bathhouse can be arranged as comfortably as possible, to suit your own needs and wishes. That is, you can independently choose the base, select materials, your own design and interior decoration.
  • Almost anyone who knows how to use tools can make such a design; no special skill is required. You can also use the services of professionals. An outdoor steam room will be a fairly economical option.
  • This is a good idea for business and full-fledged income. Thanks to the possibility of transportation, the steam room can be moved to places where problems with water procedures arise.
  • This is a good option for those who have recently moved or have just started building a home. You can install and use such a bathhouse as temporary housing.
  • The bathhouse will be made from environmentally friendly natural materials and have an aesthetic appearance. In addition, it is simple and easy to care for.

Among the disadvantages is the fact that it is practically impossible to place water tanks in such a bathhouse. Therefore, you will have to transport water separately using additional transport or operate the steam room only near water sources.

Also among the negative characteristics I would like to include the need to pay increased attention to the reliability of the installation of the structure, since it will not be stable during transportation. In addition, it is worth remembering that it is unsafe to use the steam room directly during transportation.

Before creating a structure with your own hands, you need to prepare all the drawings and think through the situation inside the room. Car owners have a unique opportunity to show their imagination and place something special inside, not just seats. Thus, a bathhouse on wheels has a predominant number of advantages compared to disadvantages. Whether to build such a structure or not is your choice!

Let's summarize what has been said

So, which of the two designated genders is better? It’s not even worth arguing here, because both wooden and concrete ones are used everywhere. It’s just that everyone sets certain goals for themselves, usually related to the financial situation. If the budget allocated for the construction of a bathhouse is large, then a concrete base can be poured. If there is not much money, then it is better to lay a plank structure. Of course, in the latter case, you will first have to decide the question of which boards are best for the floor in the bathhouse. And here again everything comes down to the financial component.

Business

Expenses:

  • purchase of KAMAZ – 2.5 million rubles;
  • purchase of a mobile sauna – 1.5 million rubles.

Total: 4 million rubles.

If your budget is limited, you can purchase:

  • GAZ-66 (used) – 1.7 million rubles;
  • mobile sauna (used) – up to 1 million rubles.

Total: 2.7 million rubles. (prices are taken to the maximum).

Income:

  • rental cost – 1000 rub./hour;
  • ordering a bathhouse on weekdays (5 times for 2 hours) – 10,000 rubles;
  • ordering a bathhouse on weekends (4 times for 2 hours) – 8,000 rubles;

Total: revenue for the week – 18,000 rubles.

Total: monthly revenue – 72,000 rubles.

Total: revenue for the year – 864,000 rubles.

Operating costs:

  • fuels and lubricants;
  • spare parts;
  • firewood;

Total: maximum – 22,000 rubles.

Total: net monthly profit – 50,000 rubles.

Total: net annual profit - 600,000 rubles. Note that this is in the worst case scenario.

Thus, by registering an individual entrepreneur and starting your own business, the bathhouse will pay for itself in 2–3 years. Mobile steam room - everything ingenious is simple!

An anecdote on the topic: Saturday is the hardest day of the week. You need to rest, wash in the bathhouse, take a walk, and get drunk. And don't know where to start???

Introduction

Transportable baths are solid, ready-to-use structures, delivered via special transport; they do not require local assembly from component elements. The structure is unloaded using a crane. Bath structures are installed and communication connections are launched. This bathhouse can be used within a few hours after unloading.

Turnkey mobile bathhouses do not require pouring a foundation, because, as a rule, delivery is made with a set of concrete blocks, and the structure is installed on these blocks. However, if this kit is not available, you can easily purchase, for example, inexpensive curb stones, and install them around the perimeter of the bath structure, with an interval of about 1.5-2 meters, in shallow holes with crushed stone dug in advance. You can only remove a little of the fertile layer.

In addition to the method described above, you can use two or three beams, laying them transversely, according to the dimensions of the structure. This foundation is good because it is easy to transfer during transportation, which cannot be done with a strip or column foundation.

Bathhouses for transportation are usually designed with a width of less than 2.5 meters, this allows them to be transported using a manipulator or other suitable vehicle without additional permits, since the dimensions are permissible according to road regulations.

Interior decoration

The interior lining of a bathhouse on wheels is no worse than its stationary counterpart. After thermal insulation, finishing and decorating the interior of the bathhouse should be carried out. For these purposes, it is best to use lining made of linden, alder, aspen, etc. A block house and planed boards are also suitable. For lining the dressing room - coniferous wood, for the shower - tiles, preferably non-slip, for floors - tongue and groove boards.

In the interior you should place:

  1. Folding/pull-out shelves.
  2. Tanks with hot/cold water (if space allows).
  3. A bench for rest.
  4. Shower stall/combi toilet.
  5. Folding table.
  6. TV/cassette player.
  7. A small chest of drawers with plastic dishes, cosmetics and towels.
  8. Additional accessories upon request (brooms, hourglasses, etc.).

To prevent fixed products from falling during movement, they must be properly secured.
