Houses with a bathhouse under one roof: one and two-story projects

Houses combined with a bathhouse are one-story for one or several people and two-story with an attic floor, designed for a large family. Materials for construction: wood, brick, foam blocks.

There are three main types of bathhouses:

  1. The steam room and washing room are the main premises of the building. Located on the first floor. On the second floor there is a rest room. Typically, such a project is announced as a bathhouse with an attic floor or a guest bathhouse.

  2. In a guest house combined with a bathhouse, the room for bathing procedures is attached closely to the main building or separated by a vestibule. The roof in both options is the same.

  3. The bathhouse is erected during the construction of the house or later. During a one-time construction, the steam room and washing room are located inside the perimeter of the structure. These rooms serve as one of the bathrooms.

The main difference between these projects is the dimensions of the house. In a full-fledged cottage with a bathhouse they are larger.

Houses are built according to ready-made or individual designs.

A pre-designed project has a number of advantages:

  • saving time resources. Developing an exclusive project takes time. When building according to a ready-made plan, you need to calculate the foundation, decide on the thickness of the walls and think over the communications system.
  • financial savings. The cost of a finished project is lower than an individual one.

The main advantages of a house with a bathhouse under one roof:

  • saving space on a plot of land;
  • saving the family budget: no need to build several buildings;
  • convenience for the owners: after bathing procedures there is no need to go outside, which is especially important in cold weather.

Important points:

  • It is better to build a wooden structure on a strip foundation. Pile-screw is also suitable. Other options are considered individually;

  • hand-cut logs are processed with a plane or scraper;
  • a wooden bathhouse is finished 6-9 months after construction because shrinkage is possible.

Types and layout of a sauna in the house

Before you start building a home sauna, you need to decide on its location. Any room that will provide reliable ventilation and supply of all communications is suitable for this.

Home saunas are divided into three types:

  • built-in,
  • prefabricated,
  • infrared.

Built-in home saunas, in most cases, are made according to individual designs from wood of various species. During installation work, remember that incorrectly installed equipment can cause a short circuit in the network and, as a result, a fire.

Built-in home sauna

Prefabricated saunas differ from each other in the type of structure, size and types of processing used. Installation of such steam rooms is not difficult at all, so you can assemble or disassemble the structure at any time when required. Prefabricated saunas are divided into two types:

  • panel boards,
  • lumber.

In the manufacture of the former, ceiling and wall sections are used, and in the manufacture of the latter, wood is used, which is a completely environmentally friendly material.

Layout of a 2-story house with a fireplace and sauna

The simple and laconic layout of a two-story house with a fireplace and sauna is combined with external façade solutions. All this together creates a comfortable and rational structure, which is accessible and attractive to many people. A family of four can live in such a place all year round.

There are two entrances:

  1. The first (main) starts from the terrace (10.3 sq. m.), then the passage leads to the vestibule, the area of which is 3.2 sq. m. m. and to the boiler room (5.6 sq. m.). From the vestibule you can go to the hall.
  2. The second entrance (spare) is located on the back side of the house. It starts from a terrace with an area of 17.0 square meters. m., and leads directly to the living room.

The size of the hall is 7 square meters. m. This space is the distribution core of the entire house, since you can go from it to any room. You should start with the layout of a kitchen measuring 15.7 square meters. m. To design it, a “triangle” is used. It is a special scheme that includes: a cutting area, a cooking area, a place for storing food, or a place for eating cooked food. This is how a triangle is formed.

It is considered the optimal solution for many kitchens, the area of which is not small, but not huge. Lighting will come during the day from two windows, and during the rest of the day from several lamps located on the ceiling. It would be good if the kitchen unit was equipped with additional lighting.

Living room decoration

A spacious living room is also located on the ground floor, its area is 20 square meters. m. This room is unusual, as it will have a fireplace. There is an opinion that this element of the interior is the most complex structure, which is practically impossible to build and install on your own.

Features of the built-in sauna

First of all, it’s worth briefly talking about the pros and cons of sauna equipment in the house; it’s worth taking these features into account when designing.

  • Convenience and economy. You don't have to get dressed to get into the sauna, you will save money on building the foundation, roof, box and all communications. Due to this, you can install underfloor heating from one boiler.
  • Saving space on the plot of land.
  • The water supply will not freeze in winter.
  • You can effectively use the basement or basement space.
  • The disadvantages include an increased fire hazard and more difficult drainage of water and moisture.

Therefore, electric stoves, rather than wood stoves, are often used in homes. Particular attention should be paid to ventilation so that the sauna is always dry and warm.

Advice! If the sewer level is higher than the water drain in the sauna, you will need to make a small drain hole with your own hands and pump the water out from there using a drainage pump.

Features of building a cottage with a sauna or bathhouse

The architects of our company have developed projects of wooden and stone houses with a sauna on the ground floor, with drawings and equipment installation plans. They take into account all the features of the layout and decoration of the premises.

  1. When insulating a bath complex, mineral wool is used, since thermo-oxidative reactions occur in polystyrene boards at temperatures above 70° C and they begin to collapse.
  2. It is imperative to install active supply and exhaust ventilation to ensure good air exchange. All internal elements are made with ventilation slots to prevent the appearance of fungus.
  3. Typically, “steam room” projects include a division into two parts: a locker room and the wash room itself. For their interior decoration, boards (lining) made of linden and aspen are used - they do not emit resin.
  4. The supporting structures are made from heat-treated pine. It is prohibited to use impregnations and varnishes that release harmful volatile components when heated.
  5. The inside of the walls is sheathed with a vapor barrier material, for which it is practical to use aluminum foil, which is placed with a reflective layer outward.

If properly arranged, this creatively decorated room is safe and can become a center of attraction for all family members and visiting guests.

  • there is a window in the bathroom;
  • pantry.

  • shower room - 8.1 m2;

Project of a two-story house with a sauna and a garage

The house is two-story. The first floor includes an entrance hall (5.93 sq. m.), a living-dining room (32.2 sq. m.), and a kitchen (10.65 sq. m.). The last two rooms are not separated by a door; the entire opening is free for transition from one zone to another. This was achieved by demolishing one of the internal walls, as well as installing two stone columns in the middle. This is exactly what the original layout is.

The living room and kitchen-dining room have heated floors. Consequently, there are savings on heating, but the cost of using electrical energy increases. It was decided to install such floors in this place due to the presence of a ventilation system.

Plan of the 1st floor of a house with a sauna and a garage

Many people do not opt for such an option as heated floors. To do this, it is worth dwelling in more detail on its advantages:

  • affordable price;
  • attractive appearance;
  • additional heat source;
  • absence of drafts;
  • ease of installation;
  • does not require special care;
  • durable.

It is these reasons that indicate that a warm floor is a way out of this situation if a serious ventilation system is needed.

Insulation of the floor in the room

From the living room you can enter the technical room, which can be used as an office; its area is 13.9 square meters. m. Sound insulation will be achieved using special materials, for example, plasterboard. In addition to soundproofing properties, it is able to retain heat inside. Since the house will be facing north-west, additional lighting will be required in the office. During the day, two large windows located on different walls are enough to achieve maximum light in the room.

House with sauna and gazebo

In a small country house combined with a bathhouse, the bedroom is on the second floor. A gazebo can be built nearby. If there is no need for another closed room, the gazebo is made open.
